The story is unfolding while we sit peacefully here in the USA.
Chuck has asked some poignant questions about what our government should do right now. Master Appeasement Artist John Kerry thinks we should open a dialogue and implement it with a trip to visit Iran. But that has been nixed by the Iranians.
Why? Maybe it's because the Iranian government is having more trouble with their citizens, than they want us to know about.
The Iranian government has clamped down on foreign journalists reporting on this series of events, but here is one video smuggled out of Iran that is certainly worthy of a look:
For more videos, take a look here at the others that are listed on the side of the page. Looks like it is bedlam, at least in some parts of the country.

I think Obooboo has so dropped the ball on Iran with his "open a dialog thingy" already. The opportunity to turn things around there has been lost. JMHO though.

Not only Iran. Look at his idiot Homeland Security Secretary. She has no qualifications and yet she sits in a position that is vitally important in this day and age.
It's only a matter of time when this bunch will allow someone to slip through, who will successfully bring down a plane or blow up something like a shopping mall or a stadium full of people.

Dare we venture to say this is the plan?
First, thanks for the mention. It's good to see you are using reliable sources now ;-)
I think you nailed it, Iran doesn't want us poking around there. It is likely we are only hearing about a small protion of what is happening.

Many have dared before us. so why not?

Yeah...I have been meaning to get around to that.
I wonder what exactly is going on in this clip, like what the reformers are chanting.
In any case, I'm glad the Prez has finally gotten around to speaking the truth on this issue - that the citizens of Iran are being oppressed by an evil gov't, and that America stands with the citizens of Iran. Too bad it took him so long. Too bad he was only willing to speak the truth when he realized doing so could no longer hurt his naive plan of "engagement" with these holocaust-denying murderers. Hopefully, this is a signal of the end of the pussy-footing period of this administration.
There a vid on liveleak of the iranian police running over a protester, then backing up over him, the driving over him again. Sick. I won't link to it. Imagine what they are doing to people behind closed doors. What an evil regime.

Like any despotic regime throughout history, Iran's present theocracy is desperate and much more brutal than the Shah's monarchy. That is not to say that the Shah was innocent of any wrongdoing. But as we can clearly see, this outfit is very totalitarian.
When we think about it, the Ayatollah has become (in effect) a monarch, with his puppet Ammadinnerjacket doing the dirty work, taking the hits. What many may not realize is, the current Ayatollah may not even be in his wits. This may very well be, al-Presidente.
Wouldn't matter much though. It's the ideology of " I hate you because you are not like me" that must be defeated.
I was going to comment, but CHuck's comment made me laugh too hard...;-)
But, seriously, folks....I'm with Hoosier Army Mom on this one. We've missed our chances. To do what? not sure.
Re: Northwest airlines bombing attempt
Obama needs to put on a suit and tie and return to Washington to assume his responsiblity as President of the nation. In other words BE A MENSCH! His laid back attitude is a total mockery of the office of the President of the United States and a slap in the face of the American people.
In France we(they) had a similar situation during the heat wave of 2003 where over 14,000 people died. That's right I said 14,000! and I quote Wiki
"The opposition, as well as many of the editorials of the local press, have blamed the administration. Many blamed Health Minister Jean-François Mattei for failing to return from his vacation when the heat wave became serious, and his aides for blocking emergency measures in public hospitals (such as the recalling of physicians)."
Mattei appeared on French television news at his country home in polo shirt during the early days of the heatwave when doctors were already predicting the seriousness of the heatwave and the increasing number of deaths. The only thing that was missing were hotdogs and hamburgers cooking on his grill and a good bottle of wine.
Jacques Chirac wasn't much better as I again quote from Wiki
"The administration of President Jacques Chirac and Prime Minister Jean-Pierre Raffarin laid the blame on families who had left their elderly behind without caring for them, the 35-hour workweek, which affected the amount of time doctors could work and family practitioners vacationing in August"
In fact one French newspaper titled concerning the number of deaths from the heatwave
Chirac: "C'est la faute des français"
translation
It's the fault of the French themselves.
Yes, I fear this President is a dreamer with a soft underbelly. It is becoming more and more evident everyday. Does he really understand the Iranian leaders.
//It is becoming more and more evident everyday.//
It has been quite evident to me, a long time ago. Anytime someone with no experience in any kind of leadership rises to the level that his party elevated him to without being tested at some lower level, this is what we will see.
It's like promoting a Jr High football coach to the NFL.

DO NOT INSULT THE WASHINGTON REDSKINS THAT WAY! chuckle
