Food For Thought

Barack Obama said in his 2008 Presidential campaign, he would support a limited increase in offshore drilling--if it were included as part of a comprehensive energy plan. Naturally, the Green freaks were not pleased. In the beginning of April, he repeated this pledge and designated which areas he would be willing to allow new drilling. Those same activists were again, not pleased.

Three weeks after this last reiteration, we note that a large explosion takes place in an offshore platform off of the coast of Louisiana. Naturally, the blame game has started for the ensuing oil leak that now threatens the entire Gulf Coast region.

HuffPo wasted no time in running with a WSJ story that puts the blame on Halliburton. Naturally, they would never put much stock in much of anything the Journal has to say about much of anything, unless it supported their biases and delusions. But this is Halliburton we are talking about--- or to hear some describe it, Satan Inc.

Some are blaming BP. They say cost-cutting is the primary culprit. The Obama Administration seems to agree.

BP is blaming Transocean Ltd., the owner of the rig. They say something called a "blowout preventer" failed to work.

But the one theory that has yet to be considered in all of this is eco-terrorism.

Think about it for a minute.

When was the last time an event like this occurred? How often does it occur? And doesn't it seem odd that it comes so close to a Presidential announcement like the one that occurred in early April?

Now that this has happened, we have more clarion calls for "no new drilling". Obama has even said that until we get to the bottom of the cause of this disaster, there can be no new consideration of new drilling efforts.

I know this makes me sound paranoid and I could be 100% wrong. But am I the only one that has thought about this possible scenario?

1. Announcement

2. Event

3. Negative Reaction

4. Shutdown of Announcement.

Who is to say this wasn't the plan, all along?

The timing is extremely weird. It was right around Earth Day as well. And the fact Obama ordered federal agents to all the wells was also weird. But I have serious doubts as to whether eco-nuts or homegrown AQ cells could do it.

We do have China down there drilling in the Gulf near Cuba. But even if it was a pure accident it has to be the most fortunate one ever for the greens. This may kill offshore expansion in our lifetimes, even if it's ruled a terror attack.

I think it's less likely AQ, but some malcontent who had a job on the rig that could be bought, comes to mind.

Haliburton of course is code for Bush. So we can ascertain that this is, in fact, Bush's fault.

I knew it, I knew it.

Time to impeach Bush.

I know he's out of office. But if they can continue to campaign against him, we can have Congress vote to not recognize his 8 years in office.

Good point about the buy off possibility. The question is whether we'll ever be told the truth.

As to Halliburton, just imagine if Bush--the TX oil man--were still in there and had avoided the area for 9 days while playing two rounds of golf in the interim? The media would be apoplectic by now.

Not as funny as it sounds. I read just this weekend that the Dems intend to run against Bush this fall.

The media would lead the story on every news cast for a week. They would be merciless.

Not a surprise, but you watch. They will do it in 2012 too.

Carlos (on NPR) said today that if it were not for Bush's illegal war on terror, this would never have happened.

Simplicity is a beautiful thing. Stupid, but beautiful.

Well Mustang, it seems that Carlos is pretty dumb, if you ask me. Dumb enough to think that asphalt is a butt disease.
