OBAMA/BIDEN ECONOMIC PLAN A FRAUD

The media and candidates assure us that the number one issue in the minds of prospective voters is the economy, so this week we will address that issue; and we’ll do it clearly and concisely. Two concerns right off the mark: (1) If Americans are nervous about the economy, why on earth would they turn to a Democrat for help? (2) If Americans are nervous about the economy, have you heard Barack Obama say anything beyond vague election-year promises?
We don’t want to waste any time on adolescent bantering, but the truth is that our present economic conditions are a direct product from the seeds of eight-years of Bill Clinton. It is also true that Congressional Republicans failed to deliver on their contract with America . And now let’s get down the brass tacks.

With everything going on in your everyday life, you don’t have the time, and probably not the inclination to spend hours sifting through, and thinking about the Obama/Biden Economic Plan. Neither do the authors of that website, apparently. After considering tens of thousands of words of gibberish, what we found are volumes of proposals, policies, programs, and promises, and less than 10% of these ideas come close to responsible or prudent. And this is apparent at the very beginning. According to Mr. Obama:

Wages are Stagnant as Prices Rise: While wages remain flat, the costs of basic necessities are increasing. The cost of in-state college tuition has grown 35 percent over the past five years. Health care costs have risen four times faster than wages over the past six years. And the personal savings rate is now the lowest it's been since the Great Depression.

Tax Cuts for Wealthy Instead of Middle Class: The Bush tax cuts give those who earn over $1 million dollars a tax cut nearly 160 times greater than that received by middle-income Americans. At the same time, this administration has refused to tackle health care, education and housing in a manner that benefits the middle class.

In laying his predicate, Obama wastes our time with what we already know. In 1954, a loaf of bread cost five-cents. In fifty-five years, prices have increased; but I also know that back then, my father earned $60 a month; when he retired in 1972, he earned over $3,000 a month. Next, Obama typically engages in Marxist class-warfare, a classic saw within the Democratic platform. The facts tell us something else. According to U. S. Treasury Department, taxpayers in the top half of income paid 96% of the total income tax revenues. In future years, the percentage of income tax paid by middle class citizens who fall into the bottom half of income earnings will be less than 4% of the total. That presumes, of course, that Barack Obama is defeated in this election. So it would seem that Mr. Obama is being dishonest. If the American people elect Barack Obama to the presidency, taxes will increase across the board. And the proof of this is that Barack Obama cannot increase government spending AND provide meaningful tax cuts to “95% of the American workers.”

Barack Obama claims that he has a plan to jumpstart the economy — and he plans to do this by giving “something back” to Americans. At the very outset, he wants to tax oil company profits to give American families a $1,000 rebate. Now if you lack critical thinking skills, this sounds great. History tells us that government does not exist to give us money; in fact, the opposite is true. Every “benefit” costs the American worker money. But now consider, if these funds come from the “greedy oil companies,” what is the likely consequence to the cost of gasoline and heating oil? By the end of the first year, Obama’s rebate checks might offer consumers with a “break even” scenario.

He also wants to give $50 billion to state and local governments so that each of us can have access to health, education, housing, heating fuels, as an offset to property taxes. Forget that federal grants do not offset state, county, or municipal taxes, but do think about this: his allocation of one-billion dollars to each state, if distributed on a per-capita basis, is a laughable benefit. In California , the per-capita share of one-billion dollars is $27.35, and in Pennsylvania , it comes to $80.43. Once again, Barack Obama is following the example of Bill Clinton in 1991 — promises made, promises broken.

Obama wants to provide “a tax cut” to middle class Americans. This is what he wrote:

Provide a Tax Cut for Working Families: Obama and Biden will restore fairness to the tax code and provide 150 million workers the tax relief they need. Obama and Biden will create a new "Making Work Pay" tax credit of up to $500 per person, or $1,000 per working family. The "Making Work Pay" tax credit will eliminate income taxes for 10 million Americans.

Mr. Obama is not going to cut taxes. It is impossible to cut taxes for 150 million Americans — half of our entire population, when he in fact intends to increase spending by $3 Trillion. Our grandfather might have noted, “This dog won’t hunt.” Additionally, ten million Americans is roughly three percent of our population, so at this point we must ask, “Who benefits most from the Obama plan?” The answer is, “Not the average American.”

Barack Obama and Joe Bide believe that foreign trade should strengthen the American economy; it should create more jobs for Americans. Obama vows to “fight for fair trade,” which means that he will erect trade barriers that will make imported goods more expensive, and domestic made goods less appealing to foreign consumers. How does this help “jump-start” the economy? The answer is it doesn’t. Two issues come to mind. The first is, think about an increase in the retail cost of Chinese-made “junk” you find on the shelves at Wal-Mart. Second, what will happen to American jobs when foreign buyers no longer purchase domestic-made goods? Does Obama have a realistic goal for our economy? No, he does not.

Several years ago, a thoughtful schoolteacher noted the following: when her school district gave teachers a raise, there was a direct and immediate increase in the cost of food, utilities, clothing, fuel, and medical and dental costs. She noted that if her new salary was a modest increase of four percent, the cumulative weight of increased costs across the board resulted in an income loss. Now, Barack Obama wants to “reward” companies with tax breaks when they pay their workers a “decent wage.” We don’t know what “decent wage” means, but we do understand Barack Obama’s very first statement: “Wages are stagnant as prices rise.” We also understand that Obama does not have a solution to a problem he identified as a national problem.

To bolster manufacturing, Barack Obama will create an “Advanced Manufacturing Fund.” The first intelligent question is, “What is that?” The next question should be, “Where will the money come from?” The answer to the first question is it is another costly government bureaucracy. Another government program, another layer of inefficiency added to the federal government. The answer to the second question is simple: it will come from the pockets of the American worker. Is this what Americans want? Does anyone honestly trust Obama with a flagging American economy?

To simplify the process of investigating the Obama Economic Plan, we’ve compiled the following chart. It will take just a few minutes to review it, and the reader can investigate further at the Obama website. But the sheer weight of this information demonstrates that Barack Obama’s Economic “break for Americans” is a fraud.

NOBAMA!

Note 1: Job training programs are vital to ensuring that young people entering the work place for the first time are qualified to find and maintain good paying and rewarding jobs/careers. We concur that retraining is a necessary step for workers laid off in a dwindling industry, but we also think that an increase in vocational/technical training as an adjunct of public education makes sense for 70% of high school students. Most educators regard such programs as invalid, but the absence of such programs explains why our dropout rates are so high within the public education sector.

None of the foregoing should surprise; these are economic programs an we can expect an avowed communist to support. The question really is, having won the cold war, do the American people now want to put a communist in the White House? We should make no mistake: Barack Obama has been a communist at least since 1991 . . . more illusive deception on his part . . . and none of these programs are the right fit for the United States of America.

Again, vote NO Obama, and vote NO for socialist members of Congress seeking reelection.

Great Hypocritical Moments

Frank Rich and Maureen Dowd are two liberal media hacks that write for the NY Times.

On Saturday, Mr. Rich, being the self-perceived legend he thinks he is, saw fit to spend his day writing this piece for publishing on Sunday. Likewise, Maureen Dowd spent her Saturday typing out her usual partisan elitist vitriol, designed to persuade her readers that she has a clue. I don't know who they are trying to convince, us or them. But I can say one thing for sure, neither one impresses me.

Both writers are trying to make the case that John McCain and Sarah Palin are guilty of whipping up their crowds, into angry mob-like frenzies.

From the Rich piece we read this:

At McCain-Palin rallies, the raucous and insistent cries of “Treason!” and “Terrorist!” and “Kill him!” and “Off with his head!” as well as the uninhibited slinging of racial epithets, are actually something new in a campaign that has seen almost every conceivable twist. They are alarms. Doing nothing is not an option.

All’s fair in politics. John McCain and Sarah Palin have every right to bring up William Ayers, even if his connection to Obama is minor, even if Ayers’s Weather Underground history dates back to Obama’s childhood, even if establishment Republicans and Democrats alike have collaborated with the present-day Ayers in educational reform. But it’s not just the old Joe McCarthyesque guilt-by-association game, however spurious, that’s going on here. Don’t for an instant believe the many mindlessly “even-handed” journalists who keep saying that the McCain campaign’s use of Ayers is the moral or political equivalent of the Obama campaign’s hammering on Charles Keating.

What makes them different, and what has pumped up the Weimar-like rage at McCain-Palin rallies, is the violent escalation in rhetoric, especially (though not exclusively) by Palin. Obama “launched his political career in the living room of a domestic terrorist.” He is “palling around with terrorists” (note the plural noun). Obama is “not a man who sees America the way you and I see America.” Wielding a wildly out-of-context Obama quote, Palin slurs him as an enemy of American troops.

By the time McCain asks the crowd “Who is the real Barack Obama?” it’s no surprise that someone cries out “Terrorist!” The rhetorical conflation of Obama with terrorism is complete. It is stoked further by the repeated invocation of Obama’s middle name by surrogates introducing McCain and Palin at these rallies. This sleight of hand at once synchronizes with the poisonous Obama-is-a-Muslim e-mail blasts and shifts the brand of terrorism from Ayers’s Vietnam-era variety to the radical Islamic threats of today.

Dowd is more reliant on the skills she learned in her high school creative writing class, than any serious talents cultivated in journalism school. In her own cute way, she mirrors Rich's claim by using Dowd Latin:

Cum Quirites Americani ad rallias Republicanas audiunt nomen Baraci Husseini Obamae, clamant “Mortem!” “Amator terroris!” “Socialiste!” “Bomba Obamam!” “Obama est Arabus!” “Caput excidi!” tempus sit rabble-rouseribus desistere “Smear Talk Express,” ut Stephanus Colbertus dixit. Obama demonatus est tamquam Musulmanus-Manchurianus candidatus — civis “collo-cerviciliaris” ad ralliam Floridianam Palinae exhabet mascum Obamae ut Luciferis.

From these passages, it is apparent that no one would dare be angry or verbalize that anger in a public setting, unless they were incited by McCain and Palin.

But now let's take a look at what happens when a group of McCain/Palin supporters quietly exercised their constitutional rights, by marching through parts of New York City:

I am patiently waiting for Rich and Dowd to explain this one. But not to worry, I won't hold my breath.

Monday AM QB

Colts 31 - Ravens 3

One word, domination.

Yes, the Colts are back and looking like the Colts of the last five years. The offense thoroughly shredded the highly touted Ravens' defense, without much trouble at all. The defense delivered some horrendous hits, much in the same fashion the Ravens are used to doing. Ravens' QB Flacco met Mr. Carpet four times and threw 3 interceptions.

The only mistakes were some bonehead penalties, one of which cost a TD. Other than that, it was as complete of a performance as was seen all year. And it's always nice to beat the trash-talking Baltimore players, soundly enough to keep them quiet for the rest of the year.

Rams 19 - Skins 17

Quite the shocker here, after seeing Washington play some good football this year. I didn't see this one. But from the highlights (and the sound bites that went with them), it seems like Washington took St. Louis for granted.

Cards 30 - Cowboys 24

Outstanding performance by Arizona. They set the tempo, they set the pace, and made Dallas play catch-up. Credit a good performance from Warner and the special teams. The Cowboys may have won in the statistics department, but it's the score that counts. And the intangibles helped the Card score more of them.

Chargers 30 - Pats 10

I have to say, I honestly hoped that NE would beat the arrogant SD team, led by the always pompous Philip Rivers. But NE just had too many injuries, with Mulroney being the one that took their running game away. Without that facet of their game, there was just too much pressure on Cassel. Some bad calls on NE early on didn't fair well for the Pats, but they did not affect the outcome. This just wasn't their week. But I was pulling for them, honestly I was.

Saints 34 - Raiders 3

I have been a Raiders fan most of my life. But after the way Al Davis treated Lane Kiffin, ran him down in the media, and refused to pay him, I don't give a damn if they ever win again. Al Davis is the biggest jerk in the NFL and deserves the losses his team will accumulate the rest of his life. Mark my words, they will not be successful until Davis retires, sells the team, or dies. And rest assured, I will not be a fan until one of those things happen.

When Fools Speak

Castro: "Profound racism" in the United States will stop millions from voting for Barack Obama.

Associated Press: Profound communism keeping many in Cuba away from dinner table.

It's amazing that Castro has any room to talk about anything, seeing how people in his country are starving under a failed economic system.

The Democratic Party's Road To Absolute Power

Three weeks ago, when asked about whether the Democrat-led Congress should assume any responsibility in the current fianacial crisis, she said no. And she said it so emphatically, it was utterly contemptible.

Two weeks ago, I published a post, with an embedded video as evidence showing some Democrats in denial. In it, Maxine Waters, Gregory Meeks, Artur Davis, Lace Clay, and Barney Frank (all Democrats) were all seen angrily denying (during an official hearing in 2004) there were any problems with Freddie and Fannie, while verbally debasing those claiming there was.

Today, we can see a letter drafted and sent to the, then, Senate Majority Leader and Chairman of the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee. This was in 2006.

McCain Letter

Note the names of the people who signed this letter. One name you will find here is John McCain. One name you will not find is Barack Obama. In fact, none of the signatures you see on this letter are Democrats.

This irritates me for many reasons and since this is not a college thesis, I cannot begin to present and explain them all. But one thing I will say is this:

If the American people do not wake up and hold the Democratic controlled Congress accountable for this crisis, I have little hope for the next two years. If the American people do not hold Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid accountable for their lack of attention in this crisis, the next two years will be far more disastrous than the last.

Barack Obama was part of this farce too. He and his ACORN friends were raking it in, which is precisely why you did not see his name on this letter imploring the leadership to take a look at this. They were all so afraid the Senate would take appropriate action, which would dry up their cash cow.

But the sad thing about this isn't that they are escaping strict scrutiny in the press or being held accountable by their constituents. It's sad because they will all be re-elected, the next time they are up for re-election. There is no accountability for corrupt career politicians, unless the people vote them out.

I, for one, amd damned sick and tired of how nothing is anyone's fault. It insults my intelligence when everything is blamed on the President and none of it is Congress'e fault. When presented with the outcomes of these failures, the Dems leading this body will all respond with their favorite cliched catch-phrase of the year, "due to the failed policies of George Bush".

While it is certainly true George Bush did not use his bully pulpit effectively enough, he has little control over what Congress does. This issue was brought up more than once in the halls of Congress and each time, the Democrats put the squash on it.

Today, the bulk of the American people are too ignorant to take these things into account, when they enter the polls next month, As a result, there will no accountability, only rewards are ready to be handed out. Four years of the Presidency will be awarded to Barack Obama for his inaction. And two more years of a Democratic controlled Congress, with the comedy team of Pelosi and Reid leading it, will be awarded to them.

If this happens, do not be surprised. They will have almost absolute power to spend this nation into total bankruptcy and drive this economy into the ground much deeper, than it is today. Don't believe me? Think I am using scare tactics?

Take a look at
what's coming down the pike after the election.

After consulting with Barack Obama, Democratic leaders are likely to call Congress back to work after the election in hopes of passing legislation that would include extended jobless benefits, money for food stamps and possibly a tax rebate, officials said Saturday.

The bill's total cost could reach $150 billion, these officials said.

This would be almost a trillion dollars total pork, spent in the last half of the year.

No folks, get ready for a rough ride because this is only the beginning. They are already arguing over how to divide up the spoils, before the votes are even cast and counted. If this is allowed to happen, there will be absolutely no accountability, whatsoever. If this happens the only check and balance the people will have, will be the courts. And we all know we can count on them, right?

Another Blast From The Past

It's hard for many of the friends I associated myself with in the 70s to understand, just how my musical tastes could evolve into a profound appreciation for 80s music. I began my love of rock and roll music like many of my cohorts did; it was in the 60s, watching a TV sitcom with four actors playing a rock band called The Monkees. As silly and innocent as it was, it was that show that instinctively and naturally led me to other rock artists, who took me further down a certain path that I still walk today.

A path is a natural and physical continuation . This means it has a beginning and has and end. It is one path, but has different points along it that join and fuse it into the entity, as a whole. And so it goes, music in the 80s (for me) became a new part of that very same path; one that always had a connection with the earlier portions, but in many ways was very different and unique.

Living in a university town, during this time period, helped keep my appetite, for new and innovating things, wet. And while not all of the innovations were palatable, there was a certain nuance about it that motivated many artists, whose music filled the air on radios, stereos, and night clubs. When I hear their songs today, they take me back to a period of time when I was a young man, energetic and vibrant. They help me to remember the earlier portions of this path, so that I may see the journey in a clearer light.

This weekend, PYY features a few of those songs that remind me of a day when Solid Gold was a popular fixture on Saturday night, and widely listened to as a prelude to a night out on the town.

First up is a tune that always reminds me of Saturday nights in the 80s, it was one that featured a crisp modern musical sound, with lyrics that were inviting and passionate. Here is the Grammy-winning Laura Branigan and her song that peaked at #4 on the US charts back in 1984, Self-Control:

Another song that received it's share of airplay, on both the airwaves and in the clubs on Saturday nights, was this next one by Hall and Oates (who had a string of hits in the 80s). It was a theme song for anyone that had ever had to dump a girlfriend, boyfriend, or date who was into head games, something I didn't tolerate for very long at all. Painful as it could be at times, I wasn't one to subject myself to long-term pain and frustration and always would opt for surgery before a bandaid, if I thought it was in my best interests. This is the extended club version of their final #1 US hit, Out Of Touch:

Once the head cleared, the real healing could begin. Usually this occurred by the next Saturday night with a new date, a new dream, and a new cycle beginning. This song illustrates this very concept and does it quite well. Here is one of the quintessential divas whose career has spanned several decades and her 1985 hit, New Attitude:

Once the lure and seduction becomes old, there is a reality that sets in. Topping this session off is an introspective song that questions direction and vision. It is about disillusionment caused by poor choices and the redemption that comes from accepting the responsibility and rectifying the situation. Here is the 1985 hit from Tears For Fears, Everybody Wants To Rule The World:

If you have heard these songs before or not, think about the path we are all on. These songs describe a deeper image and meaning than just listening to Solid Gold, while getting ready to chase around on Saturday night. They have deeper image and meaning than just some silly game played out in a night club, while the band plays or the DJ spins the records. See if you can read and understand the more intrinsic messages they give out, as we travel our individual paths as well as, the collective paths we all travel.

Enjoy.

A Thought For The Day

The other day, I heard Jack Kemp make a statement that deserves a bit of reflection. Keep in mind that I am paraphrasing, but there is nothing lost in this.

On Obama's proposal to raise taxes on the upper 5% of wage earners and to give tax breaks to the bottom 95%, he characterized it as a means to punish the rich as a means to make people more equal, which is a mantra of every devoted socialist. Here is crux of his poignant remarks:

The way to make things fair is not to punish the rich by making them poorer. The way to make things fair is to make the poor richer.

This means to create opportunities for them to earn more, through hard work. This means allowing rich people to have the opportunity to create jobs for those poor people.

When a business owner or a corporation is taxed at a higher rate, the consumer will pay the tax. Why? Because the extra tax is part of the cost of doing business and is subsequently passed on in the price of the good or the service. As price rises, demand lessens. As demand lessens, sales decrease. When sales decrease enough, layoffs occur.

So when Obama says he doesn't want to raise 95% of the people's taxes, he is lying. When he says this tax increase on the wealthiest of people will level the playing field for all, he is dead wrong.

Some Housekeeping

I have been using Blogrolling.Com for my blogroll, mainly because I found it to be an easy way to manage my blogroll. But as I type this, it is down and it cannot be seen.

Now that Blogger has a simple way to blogroll my favorite sites, I plan to punt Blogrolling.Com and put up my own. So, in the coming few days, I will be re-modeling the PYY blogroll and may miss some of my readers' blogs initially. But rest assured, I will get them all back up soon.

I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause my readers.

Return Of The Obama Youth

No doubt you have seen the Obama Youth song fest and the Obama Youth chapter in Kansas City pledging allegiance to Obama. But for those of you that are not on Mustang's mailing list, here's a video you may have missed:

These kids are going to be traumatized for life.

Corsi Deported From Kenya

By now most of you have heard of the detainment and subsequent deportation of Jerome Corsi, the author of Obama Nation.

Jerome Corsi, author of "The Obama Nation: Leftist Politics and the Cult of Personality" was briefly detained before leaving Kenya. The AP reports that he was "kicked out of" Kenya for failing to obtain a work permit.

The reason given is highly suspicious, seeing how the Kenyan government knew he was there to promote the book. But it's the other purpose of the trip that has me even more suspicious of the Kenyan government's objectives:

Corsi's Kenya trip was also intended for research into Obama's background, according to an e-mail sent by his publisher to Kenyan journalists. The Kansas City Star reports:

An e-mail sent to Kenyan journalists before Tuesday's book launch said that Corsi would "expose details of deep secret ties" between Obama and certain Kenyan government officials as well as a "subsequent plot to be executed in Kenya" if Obama is elected president.

Kenyan newspaper The Standard called Corsi "the author of a smear crusade," adding, "A statement inviting the Press to the launch today makes no secret of the intention to hurl dirt at Obama and undermine his campaign from his ancestral home."

My guess is a little different than this account.

Could Mr. Corsi have been onto something that could be used as an October surprise by the McCain campaign? Could there be a birth certificate on file there somewhere, showing Sen. Obama's birth citizenship? All it would have taken was a phone call, strategically placed to the right person and presto, Corsi is bye-bye.

Of course, not many in the liberal media will even think to entertain this thought.
