After his ill-advised comment that has hit the airwaves like a firestorm, one Congressman has decided he would rather not have the Massachusetts Senator make a stump speech for him.
DES MOINES, Iowa A Democratic Congressional candidate from Iowa is canceling a campaign event later this week with Senator John Kerry.
Brucy Braley says Kerry's recent comments about the Iraq war were inappropriate.
Braley is running against Republican Mike Whalen in Iowa's First District congressional race. It's a contest considered to be one of the most competitive House races in the country.
I would be willing to bet there will be many other cancellations, as well. And for the record, any minute hope he had of getting on the Democratic ticket in 2008, has just been dashed.
I cannot say I am surprised about his reprehensible statement. I am not surprised he's trying to spin his way out of it, either. Remember, this is the guy that voted for the $80 billion, before he voted against it. If there is one thing that could kill any momentum the Dems had, this would be that one thing.
Just what does the state of Massachusetts see in this guy that they keep re-electing him? In my estimation, both of their Senators are embarassments.

The great state of Massachusetts has been settled by Europeans since 1620. Which means that they have a great number of dead voters.
By golly Les, I think you've hit something there. Myles Standish, Paul Revere, and even JFK probably vote. (Bet they don't vote for either Kerry or Kennedy and probably voted for Bush in 04.)
Seriously, all he had to do was apologize. I still disagree with him, but in politics an apology smooths things over. He refused and that speaks loudly of his arrogance.
I hope Kerry it is not too late for Kerry. My opinion is that his campaign for elections was not very good. By the way, what is the origin of the name " massachusett " ? Best Regards.

You were right the first time as far as grammar is concerned. It should have read, "too late".
But I am sorry to say that I disagree with you on it being "too late" for Kerry.
Kerry is two-faced, even more so than the average politician. For that reason I would not support him for the mayor of a small village.
