Sugar Bowl Not Sweet For Notre Dame

LSU 41 - ND 14

In the end, LSU was just too strong of a team for the Irish. LSU is one of the premier teams in college football, there can be little denial. They play in the SEC which is arguably the best conference in the NCAA, they are used to playing other stellar teams. But give Charlie Weiss some credit, here. He has Willingham's players playing better, than Willingham did.

Next year there will be more Weiss recruits around and that will be the measuring stick as to whether or not, ND is truly back from the lethargy that slipped up on them, after the departure of Lou Holtz. Next year will be the test. But for now, the coach has maximized the effort of the just above average Brady Quinn and his other teammates, he got the best from them. LSU was just too good for them.

That was a heck of a game. It was like watching a high school team play an NFL team. What happened to ND?

Well, Congrats to LSU and fans! They certainly deserved that win.

People do not realize just how good of a football team LSU is. And they showed it last night.

ND has some ways to go to be one of the elite teams, but at least now they are back in the second tier of good teams. Like I said once before, when Weiss's players are ones he recruited, then we will know whether or not he can return to them to that elite status once held by past ND teams.

So, you're a ND guy, LAS? They really are at a disadvantage, requiring that their student atheletes actually be decent students who, like, actually know how to read and stuff! It really is too bad what has happened to college sports in that regard.

On the other hand, like you said, LSU is unbelievable. Don't know if he can read , but that LSU QB just stole the #1 pick from Brady Quinn in one game. In fact, the LSU team could probably whoop Oakland and the Lions today. Someone should set that game up.

(In my best Yosemite Sam voice)

Them's fightin words, varmint.

Actually, you are right. I love the Raiders but they will never be decent until Brother Al dies and some one else owns them.
