Friday Flashback

The wit and wisdom of the one we called Maggie:

As you can see, we are still fighting the same weak and faulty arguments today.

What a brassy lady.

I find it stunning that the left believe it is the government's fault that the poor are poor. They aren't pretending, they really believe this.

The trouble is, once the programs are in place, it's almost impossible to get rid of them. The Republicans have been too afraid to stand up and fight socialism because if they do, they end up losing votes from their middle class to poorer constituents. They will say they hate it, but the continue to vote with the Democrats to keep the gravy train going.

Look at that horrendous budget bill vote a few weeks ago, ridiculous!

Well....it is the government's fault when their people are not in power. Right now, their man is in the WH and it's the evil corporations (except for GE) who are making people poorer.

Nail on head.

The only safe way to do it is by attrition. We don't get into messes like this overnight and we cannot fix it with one stroke of a pen or one dropping of the gavel.

We built the mess a little here and a little there. We need to cut them waste first, then cut the meat little by little so as to not shock the system to much, too fast.

I am a little concerned at some people's approach of slice and dice with no thought as to the outcome of such a rigid approach would affect the economy as a whole.

There is no mistaking that we must trend it down in a direct manner, so we do not leave this debt to our ancestors.

Nunly will likely smack my hands w/ a ruler for the grammatical errors in my comment, but I am on my first cup of coffee after sleeping in until 0730 for the first time in months. I petition her for mercy by using a plastic ruler. ;)
