Bin Laden's Death

1. Is a good thing and Obama deserves the credit for having the guts to make the call.

2. Is largely symbolic but still a welcome event.

2. Does not end the war, it will only escalate it.

3. Does not ensure Obama's re-election, but it will give him a bounce for a minute.

4. Does not put anyone back to work.

5. Does nothing to pay down the debt.

6. Does not bring down gas prices.

7. Does not reduce wasteful spending.

8. Does not feed one hungry mouth.

9. Does not make the world like us more. But then again, that is an unrealistic goal sometimes.....especially, when you elect to do the right thing.

I commend the President for doing the right thing in this instance. But I am not at all going to get emotional and change my overall opinion of him, just because he did one thing right for a change. The same conditions that have driven this nation into a deep ague and malaise are still present. And one man shot and killed will not change any of that.

This nation needs to change course. And fast.

Want to show some real courage Mr. President? Tell your party to go to hell. Stop the spending, stop the borrowing, and promote the free market system. And don't let Pelosi, Reid, Barney Frank, and other pukes like them politicize this operation. It wasn't a Democrat thing, it wasn't a Republican thing. It was a U.S. Military thing.

It was an American thing.

Oh.... and one more thing. Show us the body.

The stories about this keep changing and changing. The WH can't seem to get their story straight.

And they wonder why we can never believe a word they say?

Obama is using this for political fodder, of course. Suddenly he's making a trip (i.e. photo-op) to Ground Zero?

Armed, unarmed, clothed, naked, human shield no human shield.

One solution.

Take him down.

Mission accomplished.

Now lets see the pix to put the thing to rest.

I gave him credit yesterday (and still give him some) but that is all tempered a bit by word that he had to think about it for 16 hours before acting. One should never kill another human without thinking about it but 16 hours to decide to cap this dude?

It's the only thing he has on his resume now. Everything else is failure and broken promises.

The longer they take to do this, the more conspiracy theories will gain traction. there are already a lot, as it is. The longer they take, the more I begin to wonder what's going on.

Like ME said, stories are changing a lot right now. Doesn't exactly build confidence in the people.

I have no problem with thinking something like this through. I wouldn't wanted to see a failure of this mission and the reaction of such a thing is always a consideration. Maybe the Pakistanis were not on board and this was a much greater risk than we will ever realize.

That said, it's taking a longer time to release the photos for some pretty lame rationales if you ask me. We don't want to inflame? What the hell did they think icing this bastard would do? Didn't they discuss any of this in those 16 hrs?

The death pictures must be shown. Gruesome or not. That will nip the conspiracy theories in the bud. I am certain he is dead. The world is certain but in today's day and age with all the loonies out there proof must be given.( I think particularly of Thierry Meyssan and his publication of "The Big Lie" which was a hit in France.

Zapruder film closeup of Kennedy assassination (brain oozing out of skull) and autopsy photos are out there. Waco Tex charred bodies are out there. People having their throats slit by Al Qaueda are out there. Dead Israeli soldiers are out there so let's just do it and get it over with.

I think Obama is waiting so as not to antagonize the Muslim community. This was not a Muslim thing. This was a terrorist thing. He antagonized the Muslim community when they ditched the body in the sea. So if we see him dead. So what.

I am beginning to have my doubts. One thing is for sure, if we see Bin Laden on tape holding up a front page newspaper with OSAMA DEAD platered on it, it's not going to look good.

Game changer...instantly.

LA, what's your take on the Situation Room photo they released? Obama looks like a pizzed off kid sitting at the little table, still wearing his golf clothes. In that photo at least, he doesn't have any command presence.

AC,

If it's the one I saw, it looked like some of them taking a break to watch some of the NCAA tournament in round one.

As for command presence, I can't imagine he has any.

I've read that Panetta gave the kill order, but have no idea if that is true.

If Obama dithered and hesitated, such lack of action might be a game changer for BHO.

Anyway, we're not safer with OBL dead and gone. But it is good riddance to bad trash.

I think they ganged up on him and we're doing it. I smell a movie coming, "Mutiny In The Situation Room".
