I don't like liars. I have been lied to by some of the best liars in the world and have become well adept at picking up on other people's lies.
When I am lied to, I have two choices. I can either call them on it, like one lawmaker decided he would do. Or, I can act as if I believe it and ignore it altogether, allowing the liar to believe that he convinced me of his falsehoods.
This is why I did not listen to the President's speech last night. I expected nothing more than a bullying tone, full of lies. And from what I have read and heard already this morning, that's what the people who listened to it got for their efforts.
Fred Barnes, a man who I believes delivers honest analysis most of the time, has his take on the speech from last night. I don't think the President sold him.

As a matter of stagecraft, Obama made a big mistake. He spent precious minutes delivering his same old arguments that have left a majority of Americans cold.
I watched BHO's speech in its entirety last night, and I'm not sure that a lot of Americans will be turned off by all the big talk.
Also, the "Congressional heckler" (as Wilson is referred to on the CBS Morning News today) may not have done the Republican Party any good, in my view.
This morning I read this at Politico. Too bad that most Americans will not be reading such an incisive analysis.

Time will tell how much, if any, this BS speech has influenced the American people.
I really don't think he did much to further his proposals, except to bully those who disagree with him. Much can be assumed about who he was targeting, I think it was the blue dogs. And believe me, he will really be putting the pressure on them in the coming days and weeks.
As for the heckler, people heckled Bush. Nothing was said. I think he lost his head and should have had more control. But I do believe he was telling the truth when he said Obama was lying.
This is another case of the GOP pissing their pants when the light is turned on them. They are letting the left control the story line today wih Wilson's outburst. He should not have done what he did but Obama WAS lying. The GOP needs to say this.

Sadly, I think Always is right, too....most Americans buy this guy SO big time it's unbelievable.

I think Fred Barnes nailed it about right. He might get a small bounce, but it will be temporary. He is headed down under 50% and that is right around the corner. Read pages 15 and 16 of HR3200 and see how long your current insurance that you can keep if you want to will last. It is grandfathered in but can not be changed in any way and can NOT accept new subscribers. How long do you think any insurance company can compete with both hands schackled like that?

I think you are right, I think the 9/12 rally in Washington will fire people back up, to continue the pressure on the blue dogs...which is our only hope to see this thing defeated.
