No special themes this week. Just a few tunes that I heard this past week, ones went through my head a little now and then when it was quiet.
From the mid-60s, comes this classic:
From the very same time period, they don't get any better than this one:
Enjoy.

FERRY CROSS THE MERSEY..I could weep from the nostalgia of those songs....such sweet times, such innocent times.
Thanks, LA.
Did you ever notice how you remember every single word of those older songs and can't remember what you had for lunch? :-) ruhroh!
Z ... Ferry Cross the Mersey was never one of my favorite songs; At the time, I was going through British Invasion shock. In the first place, I never quite understood what the heck these British singers were saying most of the time, and then I hated that Paul and Paula had to take a backseat to "Beetles."
Even though you weren't asking me, I don't remember words I never knew to begin with. But Sunset has a rapidly diminishing memory, resulting in far too many embarrassing incidents. This is why Mrs. Sunset has to dress him in the morning.
Well, that's what I heard.

My pleasure Z. Glad you enjoyed it.

That's 'kind of a drag", if you ask me.
Mustang.."Hey, paul,, I'm in love with you..hey, hey, hey, Paul, no one else will ever dooooo.."
Oh, that was SOME MUSIC :-)
Of course, I don't really remember, I'm FAR too young to really REMEMBER !!
I love these nostalgic music posts, thanks!

You are a bitter bloke, aren't you?
Ringo
Man do I ever feel old... LOL!!! I kind of resented Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels taking a back seat to "Beetles". :-)
And here I thought Sunsett and Mustang had some of these issues resolved with proper medication!!!
Ringo: You were much more amusing when you were portraying "Mr. Conductor" thank you.
HAM
I was only about 10 years old when those songs came out, so I never got into those bands so much. My husband listens to that stuff in the car sometimes and it drives me crazy.

ME,
Those songs came out about the time the Monkees were a big hit. I loved that show and my babysitter had a bunch of cool records that I started liking, when she played them.
That was the moment in time when this rock & roll fan was born.
don't listen to Ringo, you can't trust a drummer....
Hey, mates...we Beatles liked Paul and Paula too, ya know....
cheers!
Paul

Just a note: We will be severing all future business ties with you at this time. Letter from legal counsel to follow.

LASunsett- Oh my gosh, the Monkees! My husband used to tease the kids all the time about how he wanted to listen to the Monkees while driving, so when my daughter got married she had the DJ set it up to say how they were going to dance to a song that was near and dear to her dad's heart and blah blah sappy sappy blah blah...and then they played "Hey Hey It's the Monkees!" He got a real kick out of that.
I don't remember watching that show much but I remember a lot of girls going ga-ga over Davey Jones. I have no idea what was going on in my life at the time, but I just didn't get the attraction to him...he was so short!
Man ...
This is turning in to one SICK blog.
Eric
