Announcement

I have been having computer issues. First, I got a virus that my Webroot would not remove. It was a six-year old computer so I could not see handing over hundreds of dollars to the Geek Squad when for a few bucks more I could have a new one.

So, I bought one, brought it home, used it for two hours, and found that the hardware was bad. They are supposed to have my new one programmed bright and early tomorrow.

As a result, I have been unable to post much.

Currently...... I am on my wife's laptop.

I hate laptops.

Thank you for your patience and do check back often.

I blog all the time from my laptop. I had to learn to use one after my car accident in May 2005. Couldn't climb those steps to my upstairs office for months on end.

Good luck with your tech issues. I nearly picked up "something" to screw up my computer when automatic updates from Microsoft got hacked a few weeks ago.

Good luck.

My boys picked up a Trojan once that took me six hours of a Saturday off to get rid of.

Thanks AOW. It may have been something from Facebook, I play a game called Mafia Wars. I think i will not play anymore once the new one is hooked up.

Chuck, I am surprised that your kids picked up a Trojan, being Wolverine fans and all..

We rest our case.

LA, they'd get kicked out of the house for picking up that kind of Trojan

I got a Virus about 2 weeks ago. I had to shut my computer off... "hard boot" because it had corrupted every file out there. What I did was to initiate a hard boot, back it up about 3 days prior and then clean the hard drive and run the antivirus and anti-malware apps. Then I did a clean up and defrag and all is good now. It is a time vacuum though. That was the nastiest bug I ever encountered. If I could of afforded it, I'd have pitched this computer and bought a new one... people who infect other computers are pond scum.
