Some interesting reading about life inside North Korea can be found in this article.

It was taken from an interview with one of the few Americans who have been able to make the trip as a tourist.

It's not on my "bucket list" of places to visit, but I did find it a bit fascinating.

Not on my bucket, either...a friend just did a Christian 'visit' type of trip to Uganda and said "Z, come with me next year!" My response was "How well do you KNOW me?" (she asked after telling me they all had to pee in to a pot during the night...ya.)
Ever since I saw those aerial maps of Korea..N vs S and NO LIGHTS in the north after dark, I know that wasn't my cup of tea.
I read about 4 pgs of the article and gave up...sounds like a lousy blend of Communist Russia and China's earlier days......
IMagine American Koreans funding schools to teach of American atrocities!?
What a bucolic image used for that article.....what a juxtaposition in the piece.
We need to pray for those people, they're so brainwashed and so hungry.
Eye opening, thanks, LA. xx

It goes on in many places, Z. It is especially prevalent in the Middle East where Islamic based schools teach kids that Jews and Americans are the root of all evil.

Of course we fund that too. Every time we buy gas, some of that money goes to fund it and other abominations.

The most powerful paragraph in the article for me was the last:

The second important thing I learned is gratitude. It sounds corny, but it's not. It really wasn't all that long ago that a big chunk of mankind lived under systems like this. We look back now and it seems inevitable -- the fall of the Berlin Wall, China opening up -- but it wasn't inevitable. I'm grateful to be able to go home at the end of my trip, and I'm grateful for the people whose convictions and sacrifices made it so this kind of place is an anomaly in today's world, and not the rule.

Standing up for our values helped free many millions from tyranny in Europe. We shouldn't stop trying elsewhere in the world just because it seems impossible to change things. It is America's calling to fight for everyone's freedom.

The forgotten cause.

Many say we are delusional for believing this. They are the delusional ones who think that the world would be better without America around.

We both know who they are, we have both argued with them with no success. Even still.... that does not change the truth.

Insignificant people. No need to waste keystrokes on them.

And it's almost football season!
