Handshakes And Hypocrisy

Isn't it utterly amazing that this is such an issue?

To begin with, we must ask ourselves why the President is visiting this sexist culture that makes such a big deal over a little handshake with the First Lady? It's not like he groped her.

See what you think:

Where is the liberal outrage at this? Why are feminists supporting a man who extols and praises Muslim theology, which is misogynist by its very nature? I would say, their silence is a very telling thing. It demonstrates a lack of principles, which is one major reason people are sick of leftists and their approach to governance.

The sad thing in all of this is, Indonesia is supposed to be one of the more MODERATE Muslim nations on the planet. All of this money spent to make a show for the world.... and all we have is this moment of hypocrisy to show for this feeble attempt at restoring what they believe to be credibility, and goodwill.

At very least, I hope they get a lousy T-Shirt for their efforts. Meanwhile, we get to pay the bill.

But, but Obama has respect for the cultures and traditions of other nations, unlike that dope Bush. He has empathy. True he has lied about Bush's commitment to AIDs in Africa, but we all know that was just for show so Obama is just nailing the hypocrisy.

Besides, there are what, about 1000 Muslims in America, and they all live in Detroit. They are no threat to the reproductive rights of womyns right now so it makes more sense for Obama to tick off the right by sucking up at every opportunity. When the Muslims of America finally stand up and preach loudly against abortion, homosexuality and masturbation they will become new targets, unless it can be blamed on Christians (Crusade derangement syndrome, etc).

At least that's what I think a NOW person might say..

Mr. Garrett said you can always tell when there’s a slow news day. I hate to admit this, but I think Mr. Garrett is right. Shaking hands with the first … Obama’s wife isn’t the story, Mr. Sunsett. The story is, why would anyone want to?

The real story is the violence directed against journalists. Did you know that thugs in Russia have killed 19 in the past year? So the question is why is America lagging so far behind?

If you are truly philanthropic, you’ll send your next paycheck to Journalists without Borders. Okay, so like dude, it won’t reduce the violence in Russia, but it will make journalists richer. Which is cool.

Where is NOW?

I agree, the President shouldn't visit a country that has this view. I also think though that Obama shouldn't be President so what do I know?

That's a pretty good hypothesis, AC. The liberal mind is often times without principle and seeks to rationalize its most obvious inconsistencies.

I have always defended you to Mustang, Gunny, and a whole host of your other detractors. But I have to tell you, I am beginning to see where they are are a little communist puke.

Never mind. It's those damned crickets again.

Honestly, LA ... I wouldn't shake her hand and I'm about as far from being a Muz as you can get and still be on this planet.

Actually, I think Eric has something. Here it is at the bottom of the fifth and the Russians are leading 19 to Zip. You really do have to admire some of the things that go on in Russia. I mean, I would have never thought of having a hunting season for journalists.

Stay thirsty, my friends ...

Being a journalist in Russia is now more dangerous than a construction worker, miner, and logger all rolled into one one.
