John Mellencamp For Senate?

Apparently, there is a "grass roots" movement to draft the leftist Hoosier rock singer to run for the seat that will be vacated by Evan Bayh. It appears that it all started on a Facebook page that now has swelled to 600+ fans and was started by this bozo. His name is John Patterson, but that's not the important thing.

It would appear that his eyes and his overall appearance in his photo are possible indications of a serious drug abuse history. So taking this guy too seriously is not what I would be willing to do anytime soon. But even at that, the real thing I would note in all of this is where he lives. His Facebook page says he lives in Kansas.

Here is his blog. Be sure to check out the video. It is a natural sleep-aid when you suffer from those occasional bouts of insomnia.

But enough ad hominem, let's get back to the idea of Mellencamp running for the Senate.

Mellencamp was a known hood in and around the Seymour area for years before he became a household name. Not only will he object to his entire life being scrutinized for that kind of past behavior, but he may not want his family to know some of the escapades he pulled. And we all know that the media will look hard at little things like police records.

But even at that, the big question remains as to how much substance this guy can present intelligently? It's one thing to shout out leftist propaganda to drunken and drugged rock fans at a concert and get a rousing ovation. But it's quite another to present cogent arguments complete with solutions, to the problems we are now facing as a nation.

If anyone has any doubt as to how effective this man will be in government, one only needs to zero in on Al Franken.... who (in my opinion) has mostly been an utter embarrassment.

Very well written article, LA … but I think you underestimate the power of idiots. Allow me to cite our discussion of some time back (a copy of which is filed in your personnel file). I believe you said, and I agreed, “… there is no way the American people will elect a community organizer, a man with zero experience in national politics, or the most liberal democrat in the Senate.” Based on this seriously deficient forecast on our part, I think it is entirely possible that Mellencamp could win Bayh’s senate seat, and within two years, successfully challenge Obama for the White House. Of course, whether or not Hillary will have him murdered is another question.

Mustang out

ah, you got to Franken at the end, and that was my point, too.
Is THIS the best the Democrats HAVE?
(i LIKE it! :-)
And the Left complained that Reagan had been an ACTOR? !!!

Mustang...well done!

Wait...drug use, questionable past actions, skeletons in the closet...sounds like the perfect democrat candidate. He fits the criteria; what's the problem?

:)

Look at it this way too, he can give his own concerts to fundraise for his campaign. Afterall, the citizens of Indiana fell for voting for Bayh over and over and over again, didn't they?

Good post Sunsett.

Don't forget to let the nice people know about the satellite photos of my house.

//there is no way the American people will elect a community organizer, a man with zero experience in national politics, or the most liberal democrat in the Senate.”//

We piped to them, but they did not dance. We warned them, but they did not take heed. We can only hope that people in Indiana are not so stupid as to think that a rock star like Mellencamp is capable of articulating anything more cogent than "we need to take out country back".

That message is outdated, since his man is already in the White House and his people are legislating from the Capitol. It is "we the people" who must take out nation back from the people that he helped put into power, those who are trying to advance this perilous agenda.

I know Hostetler (one of the GOP candidates) will eat him up in a debate. Mellencamp will be withdrawing from nicotine too much to have anything intelligible to say.

Silly me. What could I have been thinking?

Now only if the idiot Democratic machine will think to talk him into it and have the guts to appoint him as their nominee....since no one got the signatures needed to be on the primary ballot to begin with. I bet Ellsworth and Baron Hill may have something to say about that one.

Thanks for the nice words Leslie...always a pleasure to read your comments and posts on your site. But if I may say something here....be careful of the sarcasm or someday you will end up a sarcastic grouch like Mustang.

;)

Leslie, if he hasn't paid his taxes he would be the dream candidate for the Dims

I looked at the picture, not the kind of guy I would typically take political advice from.

As far as Stewart Smalley, I do have to agree

The First Sergeant is right. And you are way too good to let that happen.

Come to think of it, I think Sunsett has been the one shooting straight all along. I'm thinking that it has been Mustang who has been stirring the Limburger Cheese.

Your new friend (who is growing more suspicious of the Colonel),

Did you watch the video? If we can get him to sign a waiver, we can market this as a valid treatment modality for stress related insomnia. All I would add is a little soft new age music in the background.

We can put Ambien out of business.

Thanks Sunsett, I shall be ever vigilant to remain merely sarcastic, not grouchy. lol I'm sure Mustang's grouchies would be subdued if he could just blow something up...or run a certain Gunny through intense drills at 4 in the morning. :)

Thank you for your kind words.

Chuck, I forgot about the taxes! Yes that would make him the best candidate!

Dear First Sergeant:

You may recall that loyalty is an important factor on your semi-annual fitness report. So I don’t want to hear any whining from you when you are once again passed over for promotion to sergeant major, or … as is more likely, when you rejoin the ranks of sergeants first class where you and the gunny can address each other by your first names.

Don't forget... Indiana does have many 2 digit IQ idiots among us... after all, Obozo carried this state much to my shock and dismay! We can only pray that a small portion of common sense will prevail this time.

This guy in Kansas appears to be a brain dead, moonbat, dweeb. Sunsett, you may be on to something about about marketing that video! He had me fighting to stay awake!

I am starting clinical trials, did you have any side effects?

Side effects:

Nausea, drowsiness, and the urge to plug my ears and cut my eyes out.

Only minor stuff.
