Another Blast From The Past

Not so far back with this week's post.

It won't be long and April will be over. It's been a good April-- in that-- Spring has come early this year, defying the Ground Hog's prediction. The weather has been very pleasant and the blooms seem to be extra colorful.

So just to keep April in our minds for another week, I thought we'd look at a girl who is not exactly a household name.... but, nonetheless, has some unique and distinctive tastes in music.

They call it "indie"... I call it good. She calls herself... April March.

We'll kick it off with a song that is the consummate and classic, sexy beach tune-- pre-Beach Boys:

Here is one with much the same style, but uniquely different:

I think most of her music is pretty good. But if I just had to choose a favorite, this would be the one:

Enjoy.

Ahem …

During our last conversation, you indicated that I would “really enjoy this week’s Blast from the Past selection because of the nudity.” I naturally objected to that sort of thing and suggested that you not post such filth. In the first instance, I did not feel that nudity was an appropriate venue for such a fine, intellectually stimulating blog—and secondly, considering the temperament of Mrs. Sunset, I didn’t think it a very wise move on your part.

Then, you threw a tantrum. In fact, you were so angry you slammed the receiver down and now I have a hearing impediment. I’m sure this will reemerge as part of yet another lawsuit. Nevertheless, I am glad to see you finally listened to me.

Miss Elinor Blake has had an interesting career as a singer and animator … but there is no way anyone could possibly say her music is ‘pretty good’ unless they are just now coming out of a drug rehab program.

Uh.....I don't recall this at all. I think you have me confused with someone else. Are you off your meds again?

It's okay....dealing with Alzheimers isn't easy.

But I want you to know that you can count on me to help you when you can no longer help yourself. This means I will help Mrs. Mustang find you a good nursing home.

One of the important lessons we have been trying to impress upon Eric … and which appears apropos here as well, is that it is impossible for one to compensate for their own shortcomings by castigating others. Suggesting that your friends have Alzheimer’s disease is low, Mr. Sunsett. We’ve come to expect this sort of thing from Eric and Mr. Garrison —but not you. What a disappointment today has turned out to be.

I don't love it, but it's not bad....I like hearing the French! "You LIE!" is the translation of the second one, but you probably know that.
I will say I like the hairdo on the bottom picture! And I'll also say I'm glad she's wearing clothes!

Mustang, you had me howling :-)
And, by the way, if you were afraid she'd be nude, why'd you come by!!? heh heh

You know Z, it's amazing how much we think alike. Because, I was thinking the very same thing.

Knowing the Colonel as we all do, I don't think he wrote that first comment....anyway. You see, he has the little dog that gets on the computer when he isn't looking. She likes to stir the pot and divide the brethren.

Likewise, 1st Sgt Sunsett has a similar situation with one of his mutts. Like the Colonel's dog, she is a passive aggressive little puke that is never happy unless she has sown some discord, somewhere.

I hate to say it, but they always say a dog takes on the personality of the owner. But I digress.

Sunsett, Sunsett, Sunsett. I found this particular "muse" not so amusing ... more like annoying, much like the no talent, psycho Brittany Spears. Tsk, tsk, tsk!!! You are slipping dude!

One has to wonder why you would imply the honorable Colonel has Alzheimer's and then try to blame the poor dog! Have you had "your meds today"???? LOL!!!! You are both pretty ate up!!!!

I don’t know who the above commenter is … but I feel compelled to warn him or her that assuming the identity of a nonexistence person, place, or thing is a felony crime punishable by being forced to listen to this music at maximum volume for up to two years in state prison and a $5,000 fine. There is no such thing as a Hoosier. Had you identified yourself as #1 Tippecanoe Music Critic, you wouldn’t have to face these legal problems.

I DID NOT BLAME THE DOG.

GUNNY DID!!!!!

I don't know either, Mr Ess.

But whoever it is does not know the difference between LA and Gunny. If he/she did, they would know that I OUTRANK Gunny by one pay grade.

I believe I will file a lawsuit for indecent exposure, violence through airwaves, and attempted murder, not to mention emotional distress. Honestly, I come to this blog on music day for exposure to quality music, not sounding brass.

You know, there is such a thing as a "Hoosier", just ask Bobby Knight! You silly boys just don't know "didley le doop" do ya!!! And as to who "blamed the dog"... does it matter when there is "multiple personality disorder" running rampant throughout this blog??? 1 pay grade is all Sunsett??? Geesh!

Okay ...

This blog has become a looney bin. God help us if they begin to reproduce.

Oh dear. I'm thinking we need some medications handed out here... that or a babysitter.

That's all it takes.

That's a lie. It has been a looney bin for years now.

That may depend on which medications and which babysitter we are talking about.

And you people think I am crazy?

I have never heard of Harvey Whitmore. What extraordinary music did he compose, anyway?

How neat is this? That's going to work out real well, because you will NEVER make it. Now.... get the troops together, I am going to PT them until they DROP because of you.
