I was thinking of some excellent collaborative projects this week, and this is what I immediately thought would go good this weekend.
The first tune involves a couple of artists who you would not think of when you imagine such a project. But this song clearly has too distinct styles blending well together. I think they pulled it off rather well.

Some combos may not seem natural at the outset, but others do. These two are well suited for each other, as they were when they played as Blind Faith:

Good collaboration was Mark Knopfler and Emmylou Harris. Didn't do much in the U.S. but did well in Britain and Europe.

I liked their work, such as I heard. We have a station here that plays not only classic rock but newer tunes by classic rock artists and they played a few cuts off of it, back when it was released.
I am not surprised that Europe was more receptive to it. It seems Knopfler just hasn't had as much success here since his Dire Straits days (or his fans are just getting older and do not buy as many CDs).
But if Wikipedia is to be believed it did make #17 in the US. That's not bad considering that the top ten artists on Billboard are usually rappers or thug-like artists who beat their girlfriends.
I love Plant and had to giggle as he kind of does an Elvis imitation, southern style thing with Krouse, but I like that cut.
