Another Blast From The Past

Mention Uriah Heep to a fan of the 70s rock scene and you will likely get asked, which one? One is the antagonistic character in the Charles Dickens novel David Copperfield, the other was a hard rock band from Britain.

They only had one hit single that I remember during the height of their popularity, but they were a huge part of the album rock genre of that time period. I wasn't a fan of all of their music, but here are a couple of tunes that are quite mellow and I think are some of their best. This one comes to mind right now, because of the weather we have been experiencing, where I live.

Another one of my favorites, this one is widely considered to be their best lyrical work:

Enjoy.

Thank you, Sunset.

Thank you for keeping this week's selections to only two.

I have nominated you for the Al Gore Humanitarian Award, 3rd Class. If you win, you will be entitled to attend a $5,000 a plate fund-raising dinner with Michelle and Barack.

Mr. Sunsett ... is that guy a transvestite or something? He reminds me of Mr. Garrett cuz he's wearing a woman's shirt.

I guess you'll never be a good role model, Mr. Sunsett. Never.

Your best friend,

Eric

I cannot accept such a thing. As it turns out, the same night of the fund-raising dinner, I am scheduled to have chow with the Commandant to receive the 2010 Chesty Outstanding Honorary Service Award, Non-Marine Division. I thought you knew about this. (Sorry, I guess you are out of the loop again.)

Amazing, isn't it? Well, not really ... when you consider whose job it is to keep the CO informed of what's going on.
