Evaporation

Even after his embarrassing and incompetent performance over the last sixteen months,44% of the people in this poll are under the impression that Obama is still the "real deal".

They must think he's something - some inherently gifted man from the world community who brings hope to the world. But little by little, we see his support frittering away. It's not a runoff, it just gradually dries up into the atmosphere. The big question is, how low can he go?

Maybe it's because he is seen as the weakest President in the Common Era.

North Korea is trying to provoke a war with South Korea. Neither China nor Russia gives a damn what Obama says, about anything of any real value. The hostile, anti-Semitic, Israel-hating Middle East nations know he's an apologist. What else can we expect from ANY of them, at this point in time?

Europe is wrapped up in their own problems and can't do much of anything to help right now - except, keep their own people from shutting down the continent to protest the loss of over extended benefits. We must forgive them, if are not too concerned about much of anything else, their cradle-to-grave model is in grave danger of evaporating away.

In all of this, the man who sits in the Oval Office does nothing but demonize Bush and those who disagree with his errant and irresponsible governance. It's more important issue edicts, while avoiding intellectual debate about policy. You cannot get them to defend any of their positions on anything, without them taking potshots at the question or the questioner.

So with his inept leadership in a time of great peril, it's easy to understand why he does not have the guts to take questions from the media anymore. It's even easier to see why his support is slowly slipping away day by day, week by week......event by event.

Hi LAS !

MOVING TO MEXICO

Dear President Obama:

I'm planning to move my family and extended family into Mexico for my health, and I would like to ask you to assist me.

We're planning to simply walk across the border from the U.S. into Mexico , and we'll need your help to make a few arrangements.

We plan to skip all the legal stuff like visas, passports, immigration quotas and laws.

I'm sure they handle those things the same way you do here. So, would you mind telling your buddy, President Calderon, that I'm on my way over?

Please let him know that I will be expecting the following:

1. Free medical care for my entire family.

2. English-speaking government bureaucrats for all services I might need, whether I use them or not.

3. Please print all Mexican government forms in English.

4. I want my grandkids to be taught Spanish by English-speaking (bi-lingual) teachers.

5. Tell their schools they need to include classes on American culture and history.

6. I want my grandkids to see the American flag on one of the flag poles at their school.

7. Please plan to feed my grandkids at school for both breakfast and lunch.

8. I will need a local Mexican driver's license so I can get easy access to government services.

9. I do plan to get a car and drive in Mexico but I don't plan to purchase car insurance, and I probably won't make any special effort to learn local traffic laws.

10. In case one of the Mexican police officers does not get the memo from their president to leave me alone, please be sure that every patrol car has at least one English-speaking officer.

11. I plan to fly the U.S. flag from my house top, put U. S. flag decals on my car, and have a gigantic celebration on July 4th. I do not want any complaints or negative comments from the locals.

12. I would also like to have a nice job without paying any taxes, or have any labor or tax laws enforced on any business I may start.

13. Please have the president tell all the Mexican people to be extremely nice and never say critical things about me or my family, or about the strain we might place on their economy.

14. I want to receive free food stamps.

15. Naturally, I'll expect free rent subsidies.

16. I'll need Income tax credits so although I don't pay Mexican Taxes, I'll receive money from the government.

17. Please arrange it so that the Mexican Gov't pays $4,500 to help me buy a new car.

18. Oh yes, I almost forgot, please enroll me free into the Mexican Social Security program so that I'll get a monthly income in retirement.

I know this is an easy request because you already do all these things for all his people who walk over to the U.S. from Mexico . I am sure that President Calderon won't mind returning the favor if you ask him nicely.

Thank you so much for your kind help. You're the man!!

Best,
L'Amerloque

Don't you just hate it when someone beats you to the punch on something like this?

I think it's a safe bet that he won't help anyone who wants this kind of assistance. Based on the way he has already treated Europe's leadership, once he finds out you live in France, he will be even more insensitive to your needs and desires.

Honestly, I hadn't read this before now. I may post it on a main post here in the near future.

Thanks for the laugh (and then the cry afterward).

Great post LA (and funny response from Amerloque)

I think the ugly truth is we haven't seen anything yet.

I realize we all knew he was going to be incompetent but did you really foresee the spiral the country and world have gone into in the last 15 months?

I fear he may be just getting warmed up.

Part of it is incompetence but much of it is simple arrogance and apathy. He knows that a lot of the policies he has enacted or yet want to enact have failed elsewhere around the world but he doesn't care. He genuinely believes he knows best and the rest of us are too stupid to understand his nuanced ideas.

Even beyond this, he is more and more acting like a spoiled child in that he wants what he wants and throws a fit if he doesn't get it. I sometimes think we need to start worrying about his mental health.

Worse, I don't think things are going to change much in November.

-The GOP, while they are poised to retake Congress, seem destined to shoot themselves in the foot before the election

-The GOP has not been impressing me. I believe they will get in and immediately get to work ensuring they stay there. Forgetting why we voted for them in the first place.

-I go back to the arrogance and apathy of Obama. He is so convinced that what he wants is right that if the GOP retakes Congress, he will spend his time working around them. I see an explosion of "signing statements" on bills and Executive orders. The Executive orders may not stand up in court but the damage will be done and he will be long gone before the courts sort it out.

Sorry for running on and sorry for the negativism, I do believe in the American spirit and I do believe that you cannot permanently damage the US. We will always rebound. But it could be years and even decades before we rebound from this dude.

Hi LAS !

Wonder what Obumbles thinks of this (if he thinks and is not simply the protean Pavlovian being …) ?

/// International Red Cross defends Taliban first aid courses

The international Red Cross said Wednesday it would continue giving first aid training and kits to Taliban fighters in Afghanistan, despite a media report on the practice that has drawn angry e-mails from around the world and criticism from an Afghan official. .../... ///

Immediate reaction:

Boycott the Red Cross. Dissolve the US branch. Indict and try all American Red Cross officials for treason, since they are giving aid and comfort to the enemy.

Alternatively, put it on the list of terrorist organizations.

Couldn't be simpler !

It doesn’t get any worse than this, does it —? Judging from the number of people who continue to regard Barack Øbama as the hope of mankind, I’d have to concur with anyone who argues that the socialist plan to destroy America through educational mediocrity is working.

The big question is, how low can he go?

I think there is NO limit, Sunset. Do you recall the film “Journey to the Center of the Earth?”

It's even easier to see why his support is slowly slipping away day by day, week by week......event by event.

Not so sure about this one, though. Forty-four percent is a huge following. The Rasmussen Daily Tracking Poll shows that Øbama is losing support among Democrats, that his popularity is at an all time low (-22%) … but you know, I have no faith that even reasonably intelligent democrats are sufficiently wise enough to see the long term consequences of an Obama administration. The crap is about to hit the fan in the Middle East, and I do believe that should that happen, Mr. Øbama bears most of the responsibility.

History does bear this out. But the pressure we are applying now, must not stop once they get into office--and hopefully power. Remember what is happening in the primary process, we can and will vote them out if they forget. Every member of Congress comes up for re-election every two years.

Hi Amerloque,

//International Red Cross defends Taliban first aid courses//

A bit problematic, for sure.

But there is something that irritates me far more then this. It seems the ACLU and the National Assn. of Criminal Defense Lawyers have been giving photos of CIA agents to Al Qaeda, putting their lives in grave danger.

This far surpasses the Valerie Plame affair. Plame was a pencil pusher, these people are in the filed with their lives in danger.

It's under investigation, we'll see how "honorable" Larry Fitzgerald is. He is heading it up.

Just Google the John Adams Project---also Joshua Dratel and Nina Ginsberg, they are two of the lawyers who head this sick project up..

I saw that it was down to 42% in the poll released yesterday. It's trending down, for sure.

When you consider he started out in the upper 60s about a year and a half ago, it's safe to assume that he will not reverse his fall anytime soon-- especially since he refuses to consider anything his political opposition has to say....about anything.

Carter must be so giddy to be losing his title.

In my line of work I am around a diverse group of people. I have noticed a general sentiment of distrust building against the government and even some hints of disgruntled attitudes toward Obama. It could even lean toward the disappointed... This from people who once fully supported Obama and were extremely excited to see him become president.

It is a little glimmer of hope here.

Even a glimmer is better than none. And sometimes a glimmer is enough.

Eric,

If I were you, I'd be careful. You are getting in over your head.

Some angry looking Marine, who calls himself Gunny, just paid Kyle $20 to punch your lights out. He said something about the First Shirt was on his ass.....it isn't looking good for you right now.
