Lying Liars And The Lies They Tell

We could do an ongoing series and have material for a lifetime, because politicians are champs. Lots of people lie, but they do it for a living. Someday, maybe someone can count the lies and see how many are told in the course of one business day.

Wouldn't that be fun?

We have Arlen Specter, he can rip a number of them off in a matter of minutes. He lies in his sleep, and in his dreams. So natural, so innocently. For him, it's become a way of life. He's a pro.

We have Nancy Pelosi, I think she cheats a little. I think she programs her lies. I think she has a Japanese robot which looks like her, with inept tendencies and a bank of lies recorded, and that's what we see at her press conferences.

If this isn't enough, we now have a state level liar who wants to be Connecticut's U.S. Senator so he can lie at the federal level. He has shown the people of the great state and the nation, just how he intends to do this:

Sounds good on the surface, but someone went and dug. And this is what they found.

Mr. Blumenthal, a Democrat now running for the United States Senate, never served in Vietnam. He obtained at least five military deferments from 1965 to 1970 and took repeated steps that enabled him to avoid going to war, according to records.

This was the anointed candidate to replace Chris Dodd, the retiring liar. This is the guy who was so popular and well-liked. He's the one that could keep this seat in the Democrats' hands.

Isn't it time for people to elect people who will lie less.... and will take on the "out of control" machine?

Do these politicos not realize how far out on limbs they are getting? Amazing, it's as if they all are so egotistical they never assume THEY will get caught. And certainly not by the NY Times, of all publications.

Hi LAS !

The fellow from Connecticut is an Attorney-General, says the press. How can he prosecute criminals when he is a liar himself ?!

He should be impeached forthwith.

Amerloque will leave to Mustang comments about those liars who attempt to bask in the glory of our soldiers, alive and dead.

It's ingrained in our culture. The guy who shoots and kills someone in a dispute over drugs or some other such thing, never thinks they will get caught. The parent that loses their cool and shakes a baby to death must not think they are going to get caught, either.

We have spoken on the phone since this became news. And while I welcome his thoughts, I am sure he does not feel like he can stay withing the guidelines of what makes this a family blog. ;)
