March Of The Parrot Brains

No.... it's not a new horror movie. It's more about the sycophant nature of Jimmy Buffet's followers and fans. They are nuts about him, to the degree that many think Margaritaville is really a town. It's why many of them will go to his restaurant chain called Cheeseburger In Paradise, and allow themselves to be overcharged for an average to below average cheeseburger.

But that's another post, under another category, for another day. There is a more important flaw that I'd like to highlight here.

No doubt you have heard that the chief parrot brain is going to do a benefit for victims of the Gulf oil disaster, which is a good thing. But in the midst of his planned act of altruism, when discussing the "how we got to this point" aspect of this tragedy, he cannot resist making ignorant statements like this one:

"To me it was more about eight years of bad policy before (Obama) got there that let this happen. It was Dracula running the blood bank in terms of oil and leases. I think that has more to do with it than how the president reacted to it."

I do not mind saying that Jimmy Buffet (like many other entertainers) is a good entertainer. I have liked some of his music and I hear he is a great performer. But it is overly apparent that he is an idiot when it comes to some of the things that matter most in life.

Evidently, he doesn't have a lot of critical thinking skills.

If he did, they could get him out of this mess despite the fact that he doesn't know history very well -- despite the fact that he has a degree in history. Maybe the reefer he smoked back then rewired the circuits in his brain. I cannot say for sure on that one, but he has missed the mark.

You see, George W. Bush was only one year old when drilling and exploration began in the Gulf of Mexico. He was only a teenager when the first semi-submersible oil rig was used there.

He did not start it, he did not invent it. He was not in office when BP was given a pass on rigorous inspections that might have prevented this mess. He wasn't around when BP gave massive amounts of money to the Obama campaign in the 2008 election, so as to gain government favor(s) in the race for green technology.

Besides all of these little sticky things we call facts, old Jimmy still finds a way to do the only thing an entire administration and congress can do. And that is to deflect responsibility - for their many dismal failures. That is why they blindly and ignorantly blame George W. Bush for everything that has ever befallen mankind, since the fall of Adam and Eve.

If use logic to sort this out, I would think it would be simple to follow. For a promoter of the Gulf lifestyle and culture to not recognize that the events leading up to this mess (and the willful obstruction of recovery efforts) were the results of the Obama Administration's incompetence, is anything but remarkable.

Jimmy Buffet is merely pandering to a group of people who are incapable of understanding what he (personally) is all about. He’s all about Jimmy Buffet. It’s all about donating a large sum of money to “needy people” so he can write it off his income taxes. It’s all about marketing Jimmy Buffet for future concert tours.

Parrot heads is the right title for this post. Why, that damn George Bush even caused the break up of the Gore marriage. That damn George Bush. Now as an aside, if you have about fifteen minutes, check these two [1,2] videos out … proving that there is no shortage of Parrot Heads in the world. I do believe there is a globalist conspiracy; I just don’t write about things I can’t prove.

This is really the bottom line isn't it? We had Clinton for 8 years before Bush, why didn't he do something about it (or all of our other ills?)

What is amazing here is that Bush is considered an idiot by the left but they still cannot understand why he didn't fix everything that is wrong with us? Back-handed compliment?

When in doubt blame George W. Bush --history's greatest patsy of all times.

For being such an idiot, as labeled by the lefties, he sure was maniacally brilliant as a toddler, teen, and adult. At this rate, Obama won't even have to take responsibility for breathing out too much carbon dioxide.

Ever notice how many drugged out, brain-fried people follow Obama? Further evidence that our country is in serious trouble.

Good post Sunsett.

BP owns Obama. Obama is the most owned President in US history, m-kay, Jimmy Buffet? You know what else? yer music sucks, you blow-hard.

Somehow this makes perfect sense--shallow beach bums defending Obama.

I, too, like much of Jimmy Buffet's music.

The same goes for many other performers, most of whom are incompetent when it comes to politics.

However, many people, particularly young voters, no longer seem able to separate a performer's artistry from his political statements, stupid as the latter may be.

We live in the Age of the Cult of Personality -- to our detriment as a nation.

I had to laugh out loud when I read the following:

They are nuts about him, to the degree that many think Margaritaville is really a town.

Did these idiots never take literature filled with symbolism and apply that same concept to other material? Sheesh.

Well Mustang, I watched the first part before You Tube went down. i will try to get to part 2 when they get it back up.

Goldman Sachs' name seems to pop up everywhere these days, doesn't it?

I have suspected sabotage from the beginning. It was a gut feeling. But moreover, the response by this Administration (or lack thereof) has all but validated it. Why? To get Soros some rigs in Brazil.

Chuck,

Many of them believe that we have no desire to research and think for ourselves. Many of the young people today would just take what Buffett said and not give it any thought. There is very little critical thinking in this world anymore.

Leslie,

It's the easy way out, blame Bush for everything. As we watched the anti-war people chant Bush lied people died, I knew that the next generation would internalize this kind of discourse as healthy. It is not, but it has been useful for them to turn people into programmed robots.

LASunsett said...

Greg, it would appear that Goldman Sachs owns Obama. Along with Soros, their name is surfacing more and more these days. I think Obama wants to own BP, which means GS and Soros will own them too.

LASunsett said...

AC,

Beach bums throughout history have not been known for their abilities to think rationally about things that really matter. They are shallow.

AOW, it's hard to separate artists from their politics when people do not possess the sense to think for themselves. Experts are a dime a dozen these days, many of which can be found on any street corner. Most of them became experts not by reading, thinking, and listening. They got that way because they believed stuff without any facts to back up the material. Rumors and innuendos are the sources for such knowledge, not established principles and proven facts.

Z,

Are you trying to get me in trouble? Now, your friend will think I am calling her a Parrot Brain...
