So argues Diana Muir in her essay entitled, So Hezbollah Can't Be Crushed?
I do not think it's a matter of can they be crushed, it's more a matter of will they be crushed? Will the world community allow it, or will they broker a deal to stop it?
Make no mistake, it can be done.
Check this piece out. It's a good read, but I do feel it has one flaw. See if you can find it.

The problem with crushing a resistance/cult movement like this is that you've got to kill the idea as well, and that is something that will be much harder to put out. To really get that done, you've got to get the pardigm of the youth to start shifting. Once the mindset that is Hezbollah is marginalized in Arabic culture, then you've defeated them.
Think KKK in America, they've been marginalized to the point that no one that you'd take serious takes them serious.
Sure Hizballah can be crushed to a point of being disarmed, but the problem is not only the puppets, but the puppetmasters in places like Tehran and Damascus, and those rooting for them in places like Moscow, Beijing, and CNN headquarters.
Additionally, past religious movements didn't have access to mass casualty weapons.

This is something that I think can work in the long-term, but will not work in the short-term. The short-term calls for more drastic measures, of which we are currently witnessing.

AND there weren't one billion other followers scattered worldwide.
President Bush announced today a program to bring young Arab children to the US to study. The program is probably not big enough to help but the only way to beat this is the end is to stop the Islamic terrorist indoctrination of young people.
Until then, we can only strike back when attacked.

Haven't they been studying here? I used to remember tons of Arab students at the university I went to.
No, Hezbollah MUST be defeated. However, China blamed Israel at UN Security Council. It is Hezbollah and North Korea that fires formidable missiles. In addition, Hezbollah founds a state within the state, i.e., Lebanon. There is every reason why it MUST be defeated.
I saw an interesting cartoon.

Shah,
I agree with you, sir. And the cartoon was good, it tells the story very well. Unfortunately there are many that don't think so.

Indeed. In fact, I was threatened by one when I was in college. To be exact, he was from Iran and very high-ranking, though I didn't know it at the time. He insisted that I was going back home with him, "to Persia," and would be a part of his harem. I should write that true story up for my blog!
Many of the students from the Middle East go back home and absolutely hate the United States. On 9/11, many Western-educated Muslims were dancing with joy.
Who chooses which Arabs come here to study? The mullahs?
AOW,
//Who chooses which Arabs come here to study? The mullahs?//
They are the master puppetmasters. The kings of manipulation and control.
