Claim: Hamas And U.S. Democratic Party Officials Met For Secret Talks

From the Jerusalem Post comes this story.

Hamas officials have managed to smuggle more than $66 million in cash through the Rafah border crossing in the past eight months, a member of the Hamas-led government revealed Wednesday.

This isn't new. Oil money from our "so-called" friends in Saudi Arabia and other Arab states has been flowing into the Palestinian Authority, since its inception. Most of it is used to promote anitsemitism and train terrorists to kill Jews. And of course there's Iran, which has been stirring the pot with their donations, as well.

The sad thing about this is, the emirates that give this money to this terrorist group could do more to up the standard of living for the Palestinian people, as well as their own. If they would do this, there could and would not be a need for a cult-figure like a Bin Laden or other heinous individuals.

But for the real disturbing parts of this article, let's read on:

Meanwhile, sources close to the Hamas-led government claimed that Hamas representatives recently held talks with officials from the US Democratic Party at a secret location.

I would like some names and some more information. I think this should be cause for one of Nancy Pelosi's "witchhunt" oversight investigations, she is promising, as the next Congressional session nears. But we all know that this will not happen, because the Dems are not going to investigate other Dems. That is, not unless there is a public outcry loud enough that they will fear for their majority.

The sources told the Bethlehem-based Maan News Agency that Hamas representatives have also been holding secret talks with European government officials, including Britain and France.

This is nothing new either.

Europe has long romanticized the plight of Palestinian terrorists, evidenced by the love affair they had with Arafat. They have confused the plight of the people, with the blood-thirsty terrorists that have killed innocents indiscriminately, for years.

So as I look over these three paragraphs, I can honestly say that I am not surprised at any of these allegations. When you have such a bleeding heart for things that you think you understand (but don't), you can fall prey to people that want to use you to advance their sinister agendas. And if you think for one minute they can keep a secret, guess again.

We'll see how this pans out. Either someone will look into this further and blow it wide open (someone other than the MSM, of course), or it'll do what always it usually does, when the Dems are shown to have egg on their face. That is, it'll quietly die out.

Um. I might be wrong, but I usually thought 'centrist' might at least imply that someone might be equally offended by the foibles of the left and right.
Seems interesting to see a 'centrist' going on about bogies like 'The MSM'.
Since in recent years a certain cable network has prefaced every spasmic froth with the 'word' balanced, I was just wondering.
Have I just scanned the wrong entries?
My compliments on a lively forum. Keep it up.

Hmmmm...myte has no comment on the story, just an attempt to undermine the source.

This is a troubling story regardless of which party is taking the checks. The DNC does have a history of taking funds from America's foes on the world stage. The Communist Chinese Military Intelligence organization donated heavily to the DNC during the Clinton Administration, and the DNC gladly took the money.

Sickening, but not shocking. I wonder if this might constitute a crime, since Hamas is an outlaw organization. Maybe not if no money changed hands. I'm with LAS, though - who exactly met with these people sworn to destroy our democratic ally? Names!

Myte,

Centrism is not some monolithic entity that is narrow and well-defined. It does not always mean that there is a disaste for both parties, it does not mean that there is an affinity for either party.

I could go on. But I attempted to answer this a little more thoroughly, in this post right here.

Read it and read the blog more and you'll see what PYY is all about.

I remember old Al's picture that showed him coming out of that Buddhist Temple, as if it were yesterday.

Greg,

Unless someone wants to devote the time and resources towards looking into this, there will be virtually little said about this.

I. Myte might have forgotten the many investigations that occurred during the repub-controlled days, such as Duke Cunningham, Scooter Libby, and Abramoff. They didn't have time to get to Harry Reid's land deals, but oh well.

As to this story, we need to find out fast if anyone in our government has created their own foreign policy wing, and if so, whose money they might be using. Maybe David Gregory could get on that story tomorrow.

Above all, I will keep reading. And check the post you suggested. Just curious about the angle the forum is coming from.
Great definition of centrist. I couldn't agree more, and it's usually why I get migraines around election time.
As for the British, French, and even Democrats talking with Hamas. I bet on occasion, though they might not acknowledge it, that even the present administration might speak to somebody in Hamas. And why not? They seemed to be totally untroubled by the flourishing of democracry in the Middle East bringing Hamas and Hezbollah into power. So why not talk to them?
The only scandal would be if anybody on our side of the fence was in fact undermining our interests or those of Israel.
If someone who happens to be a Democratic party member talks with somebody in Hamas to see if they might get a clue and renounce their totally unacceptable ideas of resolving the Mideast situation that's one thing.
If, say, Howard Dean, Harry Reid, and Nancy Pelosi were in Gaza on a Hamas woodsy, helping them with their little jerry rigged rockets, now that'd be a scandal.
But what's the big surprise of us talking with people who are basically are our enemies. Nixon was talking with the Chinese while prosecuting a war on their border. And I'm sure he wasn't kissing their ass or committing treason.
Let's become alarmed when something alarming actually happens

Oh. And not incidentally, I had no intent or desire to 'undermine a source'.
Again, just trying to gauge whether this is all about a broad interest in the political dynamics of our world, or one of those deals where folks our finding sinister conspiracies under every rock.

Myte,

Welcome back

Mostly it's just some people that have some educated opinions that are devoid of the talking points of the day. We do not drink Kool-Aid but form our opinions based on principles, not official party line. There is a good mix of people that read and comment here, not all agree with me on everything, some agree with me on little. But of those that disagree with me, there is a mutual respect among us all.

So feel free to say whatever you want (agree or disagree with me), but I only ask that there are no ad hominem attacks against other commenters.

Again, welcome.
