Gaza Terrorists Claim Firing Of Chemical Tipped Rocket Into Israel

From Reuters:
GAZA (Reuters) - A spokesman for gunmen in the Gaza Strip said they had fired a rocket tipped with a chemical warhead at Israel early on Thursday.

Keep in mind that this has yet to be confirmed as fact, but it certainly does signal the beginning of an age that many have already recognized. Unfortunately, there are many that do not see this new age we live in, as a dangerous era. Then, there are those that recognize the fact that there is a clear and present danger, but assign the responsibility solely on the Israeli and American governments.

In all of the arguments made about this one way or the other, the important thing to note here is, neither the U.S. nor Israel (both of which have the capabilities) fired it. And while there is no verification of this event happening (at least at this time), the point I'd like to emphasize is, the claim is being made. Therefore, we must all ask ourselves the same question, "how long will it be, before this really does become a reality?".

Better yet, how long will it be before jihadis that are stationed in this country, claim they have a chemical, biological, and/or nuclear device ready to be activated? Or, will they not warn us at all and just detonate it?

A little bit off-topic, but scanning the American press, it is hard to find the information that the soldier held as hostage is French as well as Israeli.

Personally, I'm a bit concerned that a full 1/3 of a democratically elected government has just been arrested. I certainly would like to know more about exactly how they are implicated in that hostage taking event.

SF,

I too have been following the story; not as much as I would like, but I have kept my eye on it. I couldn't tell you his name and certainly didn't know he was of French origin.

Israel uses techniques that France or the U.S. would probably never get by with. Not knowing the full story on this, I have reserved comment on it until I can learn more. I do know that Israeli intelligence, while not entirely perfect, is a lot more efficient than any other country's national intelligence agency. Their very existence depends on it.

La: His dad is French. He has double-nationality.

The French ambassador in Gaza has apparently tried to go trough some back channels to obtain his release. Obviously, to no avail.

The Palestinians are playing into the hands of the conservative hardliners in Israel. I think they are making a big mistake by the kidnapped kid, the executed 18 yr old, and now the taunts.

Full-out war might be happening there quicker than anyone thought.

At the same time, after months of bickering and divisions, the Fatah and the Hamas are now cooperating to resist Israel's operations. So it may also end up backfiring on Israel, who now has to deal with a united (against them), instead of divided, Palestinian front.

For more than sixty years, the Wahabbists of Palestine have been spouting the politics of hatred and intolerance of the very existence of the Israelis. It is simply impossible for these people to relent their position; they simply cannot back down even when going forward means an increased number of casualties from among the innocent on both sides. As LA pointed out, the Israelis very existence depends on their ability to identify, locate, and destroy those who demand the destruction of all Jews. I doubt that this impasse – the irresistible force meeting the immovable object – will be resolved any time soon.

Remember that the Israelis withdrew from Gaza ten months ago. Without any conditions. And how did the Wahabbists respond? They responded by firing more than 750 missiles into Israeli territory. What would we have the Israelis do? We must expect the Israelis to act in their own best interests. We must also expect the Wahabbists to act against their own best interests – as they have done for so long now.
