I must apologize for my absence during my vacation. My failure to post and visit other blogs can be attributed to a couple of different things. For one thing, I have had some things to do along the way, things that I have not been able to get done while working long hours. The other thing is an issue of blog burnout.
There are only so many ways to say that Obama and Congress are doing a lousy job. There only so many ways I can say the country is heading toward the toilet. Writer's block or whatever you want to call it, it calls for some retreat time and that's what I have been doing.
So instead of quitting altogether like many have before me, I can recognize when it's time to step away for a breather. Doing this can make a big difference in my commitment down the stretch, when it will count the most. Thanks for your understanding.
Meanwhile, here is a piece I found through Boortz on the utility of unions. He links to his source, as he always does . I do believe this is worth a look, because many who keep responding to poll questions on Obama's job approval are not understanding the nature of the damage he is doing, by empowering the unions more. Unions are not good for the economy and once a person with an open mind can read this information, he/she may begin to understand this (or maybe not).

I wonder if you have noticed that when confronted with stark reality and honest appraisals, the left (including union leaders) simply remain mute. I believe they do this because leftists (including union leaders) realize better than anyone that the average American, if enraged at all, is barely capable of short-term memory retention beyond two days, maximum. Beyond that, only a flat line exists unless some new information comes along to replace it. I’m quite sure that the government of Iran is thankful to Mark Sanford for his dalliances, for now the American people have completely forgotten about voting irregularities and a NK ship transporting nuclear fissionable material to the Middle East.
What a country!

Yeh yeh! Why don't you just admit you have been blessed by the Messiah who is in the WH and you saw the light.
LA, I thought you visiting Mustang again and had been tossed in the brig... (Sorry - couldn't resist!)
I know about needing to take 5, 10, or however long to recharge. Burnout and overload can be a real problem.
Unions are both good and bad, depending on which side you are standing. My own experience (as described here) has shown that they do serve a good purpose, but there is a cost. Unfortunately for GM & Chrysler, that cost became unsustainable, and we'll see if Ford makes it or not.
On health care, the Obamanation wants to not tax Union health care but tax the rest of us... on the GM Chrysler buyout, of course there is lots of money lining the pockets of the Unions... a pay off has been made to one of the reason's the auto industry tanked (greed among CEO's is another part of the equation). What the Unions are unaware of is the fact that laws were passed by our Congress that screw trade with Japan, our ally, in lieu of promoting trade with China... because they own us! The CDC has outlawed selling motorcycles with lead based paint to kids 18 and under, leaving dealers with (Japanese) bikes they can't sell, while leaving Chinese bicycles (which more children come in contact with) on the shelves with "lead based paint jobs". The issue of contractors using Chinese dry wall that degrades metal such as nails, conduit, wiring, etc over a short period of time has resulted in several lawsuits, as the degrading metal leaves behind vapors that make people sick as their houses dismantle around them, and still Lowes, Home Depot, etc are selling Chinese drywall!!! Why? Because the Chinese are "Floating our economy" and want our trade and our jobs, despite the fact their products may damn well kill us.
Wait until Unions can't get dues because all the union jobs are relo'd to China because of the horrible debt being built by Congress and Obama!
Sorry to be so windy on the subject, but there is so much going on that people don't see, it is frustrating. I understand where you are coming from about blogging. One simply can't keep up with the ludicrousness of it all!
Yeah, explanation. Not as good as Gov. Sanfords ... but close. Keep trying.

LA, I just thought you were on vacation and kicking back with the misses sipping a Pina Colada or something. ;-)
If we have to resort to desperate measures we'll get Mustang to ORDER you to keep going here.
As to Mr Mustang's first comment, couldn't agree more. Now, with the Jackson tragedy the NorKos could invade Japan and it would take a week for the public to realize.
But not only that, information overload is also a culprit. There is simply too much flying at the average man/woman right now to realistically process while maintaining a nice family life. Sometimes Mrs AC looks at me during a rant and says, "our grandson is coming over today", which puts things nicely back into perspective. For an hour or two.
Hi HoosierArmyMom !
/// … but there is so much going on that people don't see, it is frustrating. ///
It’s even more frustrating when observed from over here in Europe. Since the One’s election, American society seems to be dumbing down at an ever-increasing pace.
It is comparable (in Amerloque’s humble opinion – and he’s weighing his words carefully on this …) to the period immediately following (Socialist) François Mitterrand’s election as President here in 1981. A goodly part seems to be the media … when one reads, for example, that Michele Obama is a ‘fashion icon’, one must quickjly rub one’s eyes, clean one’s glasses, and reread to make sure that the text was indeed ‘fashion icon’.
The American media have obviously decided to turn the knife in the wound: after foisting Nobama, the never-employed affirmative-action community organizer, onto the American people, they are now touting his affirmative-action wife's 'fashion sense'.
The woman dresses as though she finds her clothing in a Goodwill or thrift shop.
Of course, with Nobama's 'economic policy', many Americans won't be able to outfit themselves anywhere other than, precisely, a Goodwill shop. Ms Nobama is simply a frontrunner, the harbinger of times to come.
Wake up, America !
This is just one more reminder that the only real way to keep our economy strong is not by raising taxes, but by keeping taxes low, fair and simple. We need to take action and contact our legislators and sign petitions like the ones the U.S. Chamber of Commerce backs (here).
