A Mass. Made Of People

If you haven't seen this video, watch this young man have one of those serendipitous moments that may catch hold.... not only as catch-phrase, but as a way of thinking:

Allow me to add:

They are ALL of our seats. Each one of us here who lives in the USA has a representative seat and two senator seats -- of which we own a part. We own the buildings, we own the system -- not them.

Think of this year's election as a stockholder's meeting and vote for what will turn this thing around. Make your mind up now that you are going to vote these non-performers into the private sector and hire a new staff, because the board which was elected last time was the wrong one.

The last time I checked, people from Massachusetts had a stake in this thing. They played a major part in the American Revolution, let them be among the first to start this rejuvenation and rebirth. Let the message of the people begin there -- in the cradle of American civilization.

If he manages to pull it off he could send a shock through the rest of the country.

I still think that if he wins, a lot of Dems will change their health care vote.

Dude, Scott Brown is kicking ass right now. Coakley and the Democrats have not taken him - or the people of Massachusetts - seriously. The vast majority of Mass voters are - like me - unenrolled voters, meaning they have no party affiliation. Occasionally, we elect a Republican. I think this might be the year, which would be incredibly awesome. Imagine "Kennedy's seat" going to a Republican! I'm almost giddy.

I know Martha Coakley. She is a great lawyer. I've met her at bar association events, and she is smart and personable. But she is not a serious candidate for the Senate. In the very debate you have shown video of, she claimed we should get out of Afghanistan b/c "there are no more terrorists" in that country. Nuff said.

It's possible, but then they would run the risk of being exposed as wafflers, who stand for nothing but what benefits them personally. We know that's true already, but others on the fence will certainly get off of it, then.

Greg,

Coakley may be all that you say, but she appears to have fallen prey to the thugocrats way of handing media and other forms of PR.

Note this report, from a reporter who was not well received. Take note of the You Tube video where we do not see or hear her protesting this thug's actions.

With clear thinking like that YOU should run for something.

Furthermore, that statement from Brown is one for the ages and should become a rallying cry in this year's tea parties.

Thanks, but I am not interested in having my entire life dissected and not really in good enough health to withstand the pressure of the process. My current job is stressful enough, so the next career move I would make would be retirement after a lottery win.

LAS: from the clip, it sure looks like that guy pushed the reporter, resulting in him tripping over the barrier. It's not clear that Coakley saw any of it.

However, I agree with you that Coakley is and as senator would be nothing more than a mouthpiece for Harry Reid. She is an inexperienced politician who I don't think would be able to stand up to the party. I also don't think she wants to stand up to the party. She is pretty hard left, it turns out. On a radio show last month, she declared, "We need to get taxes up!" No terrorists in Afghanistan. Punish "the rich" mentality. Etc. She has a reputation - well earned I think - of being tough on crime. But she has also had her hand in a terrible saga here called the Amirault case, where a family of innocent people were jailed for molestation accusations that were untrue. Coakley did nothing for those people when it was in her power to do something.

There is no way in hell I would vote for her, and I know a lot of people who feel the same way. Yesterday, a colleague of mine who belongs to her local Democratic Party Committee confided that she is voting for Brown. Pretty amazing, I think. If she's going that way, I'm sure that there are many similar Democrats around the Commonwealth.

It's certainly exciting to have a race where there is a legitimate contender facing the Democratic candidate. I'm excited to vote on Tuesday.
