A Summer Of Discontent?

Frustration often leads to anger. When people do not think they are being listened to, they tend to speak louder, with more passion and tone. When it reaches the anger point, it can turn to rage. This is where it becomes counter-productive and it solves nothing at all. But when anger turns to appropriate action, things can get done.

Right now it looks like frustration has made way for anger and we are seeing some anger converted into action over this massive government spending:

This is small potatoes right now, but it is a beginning. To make any real waves, there must be more actions like this -- all within the confines of the law and visible to the public, with or without MSM coverage.

What is needed right now (with summer coming up) is a plan for conservative entertainers to work in some free appearances, at some rallies like this. I'd like to see what kind of drawing power can counter the push for socialist overhaul.

I'd also like to see someone that has the health, ability, and will, to stand up and run against the machine -- someone to oust the likes of Dodd and Frank and anyone else that has committed a great malfeasance against this great land. Maybe someone that loves their country will step to the forefront and offer themselves as an example of honor and integrity, as they make an integral contribution to cleaning up Washington. Someone with brains and doesn't need the money or the power, but only wants to see this nation get back on a realistic course.

(Now if you'll excuse me, the plane is about to land on the island and I have to find Tattoo.)

I wonder what would have happened if 0bama, during his campaign (funded largely by companies he is now "stimulating"), had been honest, and told us he planned, in his first 60 days in office, to hand hundreds of billions of dollars to the financial wizzes who tanked the banking system, pass the largest spending bill in history, explode the national debt, propose making wounded vets pay for their medical care from private insurance, nominate an anti-semitic lunatic to a sensitive foreign policy post, nominate a political hack w/ no relevant experience to the CIA, nominate a tax cheat to run the IRS, let GITMO terrorists free on US soil, and suck up to our worst enemies. I wonder what would have happened....

I like to see peaceful protesting. My thought while watching this is "wow, this is as big as the anti-war protests against Bush". Not getting quite the same coverage though. No discussion of widespread condemnation of Obama's policies.

I do fear though that we could have a bad summer if this economy continues to slide. As an ER RN I know that when people are unemployed and get restless, any type of party or gathering in the warm months turns bad quickly.

Greg: He would have won the presidency. Yep. Liberals are that stupid.

I’d like to point out to everyone that this blogger, whose moniker is “Sunset” has been skipping merrily through the blogosphere leaving not-so-subtle comments, such as “Mustang is suffering from sundowner’s syndrome,” is now demonstrating his own dementia. He first laughably suggests there is any such thing as a “conservative entertainer,” and then end’s his rant with a reference to the television show, Fantasy Island.

So here’s what I think is really going on: Mr. Sunset is a pseudonym for some sixties period ex-Los Angeles hippy and a shill for the Hollywood crowd, an individual who has benefitted directly from the so-called bailout legislation, and a lifetime member of the greater-LA basin chapter of ACORN, who happens to be registered to vote as a democrat under several fraudulent identities. I will not be surprised when he shows up at Greg’s doorstep with a census form demanding tax-exempt donations.

Note to Greg: If this happens, call a cop.

Just wanted to say thanks for following my blog. I read your "About Me" section, I have to say you sound a lot like me.

Probably the same thing that did happen. Until the American people wake up and realize that their choice in leadership has consequences that affect them personally, they will be content to believe the BS put out by these kinds of politicians.

I know that almost everyone that came here and commented during the campaign, knew this was a serious risk. But we are few and they are many.

It could be because there are still enough people stuck in a state of denial. So many still want to desperately believe that his policies will work in the long term.

Imagine the anger when they finally realize they don't work.

Darth, you are welcome. Welcome to PYY, feel free to comment anytime.

Now to my good friend Mustang, who asks me for medical, business, and relationship advice on a semi-regular basis and still refuses to pay his co-pay:

I am not sure if Aricept is available in generic yet, in fact I doubt it. But since you are to cheap to buy brand names, brain cells will continue to die unless you come to realize that you are suffering from early-onset dementia and take appropriate action soon. Denial is a terrible thing and I am sure all of here will help you, but you must be willing to let us help you.

I believe that you believe that all things are normal, but the scores on the mental status testing I have been doing with you are not yielding very high scores.

Chuck's right..notice how the protests against lefty plans are always peaceful?

Greg, great question: I think McCain would have won.. Mustang's wrong, but he is ALWAYS wrong. (heh heh..just kidding, as you all know!)

Not sure I agree with that. In the mornings he's pretty much on his game. But like most dementia patients, the evenings are when his thinking gets cloudy.

So LASunsett, will you be attending the "Tea Party at the State House" on April 15th??? Just curious.

I didn't know this was mustang's "self-help group" for dealing with dementia! According to him, he doles out all the advice to you LA! I believe the old Marine, you probably do belong to ACORN... a covert operatative!

Hi Hoosier Army Mom,

Didn't know there was one scheduled, but you know I just might swing that. Are you going?

//According to him, he doles out all the advice to you LA!//

Yeah well, everything he doles out to me, gets me in trouble with Mrs. Sunsett. I got grounded once because of him.

;)
