Could Japan And South Korea Be Heading Towards Healthy Alliance?

Click on the title for a Reuters article about the Japanese Emperor changing plans at the last minute to pay his respects to Koreans that died at Japanese hands, in WWII.

Japan and South Korea are going to need each other with North Korea rattling its sabers and the questionable intentions of China, both at the forefront of Asian politics. This is a positive step.

Current South Korean administration is leftist, and pursuing closer ties with North Korea and China. Also, the rise of nationalism both in China and Korea, leads them towards increasingly anti-Japan and anti-American.

I am worried about these trends.
