The Pot Calling The Kettle Black

Today, the media is going out of its way to report that Presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich is openly questioning President Bush's mental health, after his comments about Iran's nuclear program possibly being a precursor to WWIII. This begs the question: Is this the same Dennis Kucinich that socializes with Shirley MacLaine, and saw a UFO while on her property?

Understandably, no Presidential candidate would want to be painted as a nut and being known as one who claims to have seen a flying saucer would certainly qualify. So, I can understand why he hasn't openly admitted this. By the same token, if it's not true, he wouldn't want to offend what little support he does have, namely Ms. MacLaine and six or seven other loons that know her well. So, it does not surprise me that he has yet to comment on this story.

Be that as it may, I find it extremely ironic that he would have the audacity to take the debate in this particular direction. But when we all consider the source here, it may not be so ironic, after all.

Good one. Kucinich was also the same guy sitting in Bashar Assad's palace as the Israeli jets were screaming overhead to take out the clandestine nuke site.

What a card.

In my best Johnny Carson voice: I did not know that.

Holy crap that is funny.

I read some reaction on this from Kucinich today. He said he thought it was perfectly appropriate to question the President's mental health. He also said he was setting up a campaign office in Roswell, NM and Exeter, NH (I believe that is a reference to the location of the first abduction story).

I totally disagree with Kucinich on policy, but I'll tell you what I like about him - he's sincere. He really does mean everything he says. He lives in a very modest home. It's refreshing in a way.

I'm also a bit of a UFO nut myself. I've never seen anything I thought was an alien spaceship, but others may have. Actually I did see something weird on the ride to work this morning. At first it looked like a helicopter, but as I passed under it, it looked more like a kite. Weird. Had I been smoking some good stuff with Shirley McClain, I might have thought it was the mothership coming to save/destroy us....

Would that be the one circling over Louis Farrakhan or just a regular one? ;-)

Kucinich is right about foriegn policy. We are WAY OUT THERE with Bush and Cheney if you believe that there were atleast two reasons to go into Iraq - oil and oil.

I was sorry to learn Kucinich is talking about UFOs. It doesn't do much for his credibility. A UFO is a funny thing, it doesn't mean alien spaceships, it means unidentified flying object.

If you watch Bush over the last three months, there is little doubt that his mental state has changed and that he is not a stable individual.

"being known as one who claims to have seen a flying saucer would certainly qualify" [as a nut]

I take major exception to that statement. Simply seeing a UFO, or admitting to seeing a UFO, does not make one a nut.

Assuming the UFO is extraterrestrial in origin with no proof, and putting on tinfoil hats to protect yourself from alien mind-readers.... that makes you a nut.

And Kucinich acknowledges that it was simply a flying object he couldn't identify, not an alien spacecraft. So realy, there's nothing nutty about it, and the premise of your post "pot- kettle", is really not even applicable here.

Hi O' Reilly,

Welcome to PYY, I don't believe we have met before.

//A UFO is a funny thing, it doesn't mean alien spaceships, it means unidentified flying object.//

I will grant you that. This is a fair criticism. I have no doubt that many real sightings were nothing more than the government testing military equipment of some kind or another.

But, when we read about how Ms.MacLaine describes the incident, it is made to sound like some spiritual experience.

Disagreeing with Bush's policy is one thing. Disagreeing with his handling of things and thinking he's screwed things up is another thing. Those are statements of opinion and are fair to make, if you support them why you think that way.

Most intelligent educated people can draw the distinction between insanity and incompetency. There is a great amount of difference between them and in my opinion, is not fair criticism.

I haven't seen one ever. Have you?

In the decades that I have been watching the sky, I haven't seen any. Not in real life, not live on TV. With all of the technology today, I would think that Fox, CNN, or some other media outlet would capture the image of one as it is happening. Hasn't that ever seemed strange to you?

From the article that brought us this story:

Kucinich "had a close sighting over my home in Graham, Washington, when I lived there," the actress, a close Kucinich friend, wrote. "Dennis found his encounter extremely moving. The smell of roses drew him out to my balcony where, when he looked up, he saw a gigantic triangular craft, silent, and observing him.

"It hovered, soundless, for 10 minutes or so, and sped away with a speed he couldn't comprehend. He said he felt a connection in his heart and heard directions in his mind."

Doesn't sound like it was just an unidentified object in his mind, does it?
