Another Blast From The Past

Boo!!! Ya'll. It's time for the annual Halloween post.

This year, I thought we'd ease up on the Alice Cooper and lighten it up for a couple of songs to start out.

The first one has been around forever, at least to me it has. I was Kindergarten age, when this one was released. Since that time, it has crept its way into the core of American culture and still gets a lot of attention this time of year:

Another silly song, this one is by Dr. Demento:

Not much in the way of music in this next one. Just something I'd like to share with anyone who cares.

For years, on Friday nights around midnight, WTTV Channel 4 in Indianapolis had a weekly horror movie airing. It could have been a horror or a sci-fi, it didn't matter. One thing was always certain though, it would always be a scary one. The following is a snippet of the man who hosted and introduced the weekly movie, Sammy Terry. This was just one of his "too many to count" introductions, give it a look:

I said we'd ease up on Cooper, not shut him out altogether. What's Halloween without Mr. Halloween doing at least one tune?

Here is what appears to be a demo of the title track of Killer:

Enjoy.

I'm surprised at this week's selection. I thought for sure he'd include Elvira. Not many people know this, but Sunsett is the National President for Life of the Elvira Fan Club.

Oh, you need evidence? In this vido, Cassandra Peterson explains how Sunsett keeps writing her weird letters.

What? You's been stepping out on me all this time, Sunsett? Elvira? What she got? She can't pass a huge spending bill or wreak havoc on the health care system. Set the record straight, LA, we all know whose fan club you are president of.

I didn't watch the horror movies but I do remember Sammy Terry. LOL. Aw, he was kind of weird and creepy, but still funny to watch as he introduced the movies.

Leslie, you might have hit on an important discovery about the Sunsett-meister. In fact, I'm thinking you could be in line for a Pulitzer Prize for exposing the real L. A. Sunsett.

As I understand your theory, his over-exposure to horror films as a wee lad could explain his taste in freaky music and ... ugh ... his fascination with Alice Cooper genre weirdos.

The entire staff here at The Mustang Group LLC join me in offering you our most sincere congratulations for a job well done.

Now Mustang, we both know that you are being a bit tough on Sunsett, which wouldn't be so bad if you were without fault.

Remember those late night meetings we had many years back, when Bill would be slipping out to meet one of his bimbos? I miss them.

When I get back in country from my business trips my boss likes to keep me on, how about we get together again?

Madam … our client may have many faults, but we can guarantee you there is one blunder he has never made: Mustang has never cuddled with a wolverine. Moreover, it has been more than 20 years since he fell under the influence of intoxicating spirits, but even in his worst days, we promise you that before you ever seemed attractive to our client, he would be already in a comatose state and therefore incapable of disgracing himself, the Corps, all the Marines who have gone before, and this august law firm.

Sadly, the same cannot be said of our client’s friends in the Army and Navy, who on more that one occasion, have disgraced everyone. We sure you have our client confused with someone else; it is either that, or you are not really Hillary at all … but some wastrel seeking to take away Sunsett’s title as a no-good wedge-driving bastard.

Sincerely yours,

Tom,

Yes they do bring back memories. But I just want you to be clear that it was Mustang who brought up Elvira, not me. I think he's been stalking her for a long time now and has been served with several restraining orders in several states, as a result.
