Mark at Eclipse Ramblings has a post that tells of a witnessed battle between two factions of the insurgency. Read it.
Hopefully they will divide further and those that are native Iraqis will resist the foreign Al Qaeda insurgents. By doing so, they can be isolated, defeated, and our forces will be that much closer to coming home.
I cannot imagine there is a lot of grassroots Iraqi support for those that come from outside Iraq and are indiscriminate about who they kill. If all Iraqis (whether they like us or not) will get serious about handling their own affairs and drive those forces out, we can get out that much sooner.
Here is another post on this at Winds Of Change.

I regret that people misunderstand the relation between America and the Middle East. I shall appreciate your visit to my blog.
Iraqis have little experience of handling their own affairs. Throughout the history, they had been ruled by empires, like Saracen, Turkey, and Britain. Then, they were under the Baathists rule. They may not be conscious of their national identity.
However, I believe they are beginning to understand their own endeavor is necessary. America and allied forces stay there to help their effort.
There are many Americans that don't understand, but there are many that do. There are also those that understand and just want to take any side that is opposite of the President, so they accentuate the negative aspects solely for political gain.
Bush has made some mistakes, but who among us could have done the job he has done, and not make some oursleves?
