Saudis Being Held For Unauthorized Boarding Of Tampa School Bus

Mike at Mike's America has posted links to this story. So, a hat tip and a good job, are both in order to him, for getting this one up.

I know that to many I am preaching to the choir on this one. But to those that aren't so sure or do not buy into the fact that there are dangerous people among us; it would be wise for every school official, every parent, every student, and every everyone to watch for people hanging around the schools, especially now as this school year comes to a close.

Maybe this is nothing, but maybe it is. We need to find out what these guys were doing. The one thing we cannot do is blow it off and hope it will go away on its own, like many love to do.

But as to, the article?

READ IT!!

Dumb and dumber? Looks sorta that way, although it could be a dry run, which is scary. One of the guys had shorts and a trench coat, I believe.

But if this was really a dry run it seems pretty stupid, since now every bus driver in America will BOLO. And since these guys couldn't speak good english, it's unlikely they would be sent out by themselves if belonging to a terror cell, they would have had handlers like in the 9/11 clan.

One good thing. If they really were in a cell, it's soon to be no more.

Maybe, maybe not. It's not worth taking it lightly, these guys are capable of learning the trade of acting.

I find it hard to be that these two fellows were so dumb.

Casing the school? That's my guess.

I hate to bring this up, but I'm going to anyway. What would America do if a schoolbus full of children were taken hostage until certain prisoners were released? I can't bear the thought, but my best friend in Texas mentioned the possiblity, and I think it could happen.

AOW,

Casing the school? That's my guess.

Possibly.

I think it could have also been a dry run for suicide bombers. They could have been trying to see how easy it would be to enter a school bus. Which in this case was pretty easy.

I hope they boot them out of the country even if they can't prove it was a dry run. Visa holders have no constitutional right to be stupid, only citizens have that right.

AICS,

I hope they boot them out of the country

If they are that nuts, then yes. Back home they go, no questions asked. But, if they are involved in something more sinister, I'd send them to Gitmo.

You know that CAIR will NOT be happy at either choice. And quite frankly, I don't CAIR.(Budoompbump, cymbal sound)

lasunsett- if you mean locking them away indefinitely with no judicial rights, i heartily disagree.

if we want to be better than (and provide an attractive idealogical alternative to) dictatorships, we should respect the spirit of our own laws.

Ms Miami,

They are not citizens. They are subject to our laws, but they are not afforded the same rights as the citizens of this country. Cuban criminals sent to us by Castro, via boat in the 80s, were not afforded the same rights, as Americans. They were not here to commit terrorist acts, they were here only because Castro wanted to empty out his jails.

If they are here only to participate in an attack on the U.S., then they are enemy combatants, by definition. How would it be sensible to treat them any better than the Cubans?

Please note that I am not throwing out the Gitmo option, casually. If they are not involved with al Qaida or some other terrorist group, then I would NOT support sending them there. But if they are, then they meet the definition of enemy combatant. And in my opinion, they should be treated as such.

lasunsett- i'm not a legal scholar. regardless of the technicalities, i believe that depriving foreign detainees of basic legal rights only hurts our cause in the long run.

by the way, only a very small percentage of marielitos were people released from jails and mental institutions (not that you were claiming that all were).

They are being deprived of the opportunity to kill us or our soldiers in combat. They aren't there for jaywalking or petty thievery.

And as for our cause, very few people are with us on our cause, anyway. I do not see where giving them a trial at this point in time, helps our cause with those people that don't recognize our cause, to start with.

lasunsett- sorry, but with that logic, we should round up the entire afghan and iraqi population...

Ms Miami,

That is the very thing that has been used as a point of misinformation. It's simply not so. I know too many people that have been there and the MSM view has a lot of people believing that, but the stories from those that were there, are very different and quite numerous.

Most of these people want the same things we do. A lot of Iraqis and a lot of Afghanis love the Americans and see the soldiers, as there to help. The majority of the people were oppressed under Saddam and the Taliban.

The people fear the terrorists and they know that wherever there Americans are, the terrorists may strike. But, rest assured that the bulk of these populations do not hate us and are not trying to kill us.

This is why the danger is there, because these guys hide in the population and use the common people as cover, in the heat of battle. They sometimes take over small villages, and strike fear into the people, so that when the media does get around to talk to some of them, they are scared the bad guys will see them and come back and kill them and their families. They do not play fair.

That's where the MSM has really painted an inaccurate picture, I am sorry you believe their versions, over what the overwhelming majority of vets from there are saying.

lasunsett- sorry- i think that you've misunderstood what i was trying to say.

in my opinion, if we want to proclaim "and justice for all" all the time, we should really mean it.

Although, non-citizens may technically have no right to due process, I think that we're only shooting ourselves in the foot by depriving them.

if the government is holding people at gitmo for good reason, they should have no fear of due process. people who have nothing to hide, hide nothing.

however, if they are just picking people up based on nothing more than 'hunches,' they might as well round up the entire population.

I would never support that under any circumstances. I agree that hunches do not count.

If the guys on the bus turned out to be terrorists, yes. But only after we knew that for a certainty, otherwise I would deport them.

The guys already in Gitmo were captured in combat, any terrorist captured on our soil, is in combat. (At least from where I sit, they are)
