The Big Speech

I didn't see it. It was slated for 10:00 PM EDT and at my age, I need my sleep before my ten hour days. But I am sure I will get to see and hear clips throughout the day, and will be able to view it in the internet this weekend.

In the few soundbites I have already heard (as I pry my eyes open this morning), it sounded like any other speech he has given. What I have already heard was long on rhetoric and short on specific plans to fix everything that is wrong with this country (which, according to him, is everything). And why shouldn't it be? This is what got him here.

So what did everyone else think?

Amazingly, Obama's "Change" is simply the same Democratic, Jim Crow Party rhetoric we've heard for the past 40 years. The only change is that a black man is spewing it.

But you have to admit ... what a country we have! I would have never imagined that a black man would rise to lead the Jim Crow Party.

Sarah Palin as VP nominee is a stroke of genius ... and I predict Little Joey Biden will rue the day he debates her in a public forum.

Hi LAS !

Mustang is spot on: a stroke of genius. SP is young, e.g. so byebybe Obama's "youth" argument. She's married to a 1/8 Native American. One of her kids has Downe syndrome.

Most assuredly, it's going to be an interesting Autumn. (grin)

McCain certainly has guts.

Best,
