PYY Sunday Public Service Message

For those that do not understand the nuances of politicalese, PYY wishes to translate the statement from Hillary Clinton on Obama's pick of Joe Biden for VP, free of charge and as a public service.

Hillary's statement:

“In naming my colleague and friend Joe Biden to be the vice presidential nominee, Barack Obama has continued in the best traditions for the vice presidency by selecting an exceptionally strong, experienced leader and devoted public servant. Senator Biden will be a purposeful and dynamic vice president who will help Senator Obama both win the presidency and govern this great country.”

Translation:

In naming my colleague and friend Joe Biden to be the vice presidential nominee, Barack Obama has confirmed what I have repeatedly said throughout the entire primary process: He's not ready. Had he not named an exceptionally strong, experienced leader and devoted public servant to compensate for his complete lack of experience, the election would have been a complete blowout. Now, we have moved the party's position from that of "not having a snowball's chance in hell" to "will likely lose a close election", because you didn't nominate me. (Don't say I didn't warn you.)

Footnote question to Obama supporters - How much more supportive do you want this woman to be, after you threw her and her husband under the bus for a green-horned novice?

So as I mentioned on an earlier post when I saw the name Biden I somehow flashed in my hardening brain thoughts of Bin Laden. Once again the equation

Bi(n) (La)den

Does this mean that the campaign bumpersticker will read Obama - Bi(n) (La)den 08

For once I agree with Hillary, as translated by PYY. My view is that Joe Biden is not only an empty suit, it also needs to be cleaned and pressed.

That said, ignoring Hillary, who else could the Democrats have possibly selected at a VP running mate? Nationally, Biden has a national recognition of about 9% ... which means that there is SOME good in our failed educational system ... but then consider how many people could recognize any of the other "short list" contenders.

What I think is that Hillary is so excited about an Obama/Biden loss that she's forced to wear adult diapers. And I also think she and Billy are quietly doing everything they can to derail the Messiah's bid for the presidency.

But then, what do I know?

Um ... next question: "Who will McCain select?"

Liebermann?

Romney?

L. A. Sunset?

If there is money to be made, you might just see one or two.

The Dems need an intervention. Only Howard Dean could screw up a sure victory like this.

You guys hav me laughing this morning. Funny comments.

I'm liking Hillary more and more. I hope she totally ruins Uhbama's convention.

Did I ever tell you my experience with conventions? I was on the team that negotiated the contract for the 2004 DNC convention in Boston. Basically, what the Party wants is....a big party. Paid for by local taxpayers. They demand all kinds of things, like computers and HDTVs and IPods that are supposedly necessary for the convention. Then, all these things disappear when the convention is over. They also demanded free transportation during the week. They wanted all kinds of fancy food (for free) during the week. Boston didn't give them half of what they wanted, but the DNC still got a lot of taxpayer-funded gifts. And for what? A lot of police overtime spent controlling loony leftists high on drugs. Streets littered with trash left by people protesting drilling in Anwar. Typical Boston traffic made worse by security restrictions. At least we got that awesome BHO speech (though none of the people mesmerized by it can seem to remember what He said)....

Can't speak for the others here, but I (for one) am glad we can be here for your comedic pleasure. The world is going to hell in a handbasket (as my father once predicted) and you find humor in our collective cries of despair and anxiety. ;)

//At least we got that awesome BHO speech (though none of the people mesmerized by it can seem to remember what He said)....//

Let me help refresh your memory:

My father was a foreign student, born and raised in a small village in Kenya. He grew up herding goats, went to school in a tin-roof shack. His father -- my grandfather -- was a cook, a domestic servant to the British......blah blah blah.......I stand here today, grateful for the diversity of my heritage, aware that my parents’ dreams live on in my two precious daughters. I stand here knowing that my story is part of the larger American story, that I owe a debt to all of those who came before me, and that, in no other country on earth, is my story even possible......blah......blah.

We have more work to do -- more work to do for the workers I met in Galesburg, Illinois, who are losing their union jobs at the Maytag plant that’s moving to Mexico, and now are having to compete with their own children for jobs that pay seven bucks an hour; more to do for the father that I met who was losing his job and choking back the tears, wondering how he would pay 4500 dollars a month for the drugs his son needs without the health benefits that he counted on; more to do for the young woman in East St. Louis, and thousands more like her, who has the grades, has the drive, has the will, but doesn’t have the money to go to college...........blah...blah, blah ...........blah blah.....

John Kerry believes....blah blah blah.......

John Kerry believes....blah blah blah.......

John Kerry believes....blah blah blah.......

John Kerry believes....blah blah blah.......

America! Tonight, if you feel the same energy that I do, if you feel the same urgency that I do, if you feel the same passion that I do, if you feel the same hopefulness that I do -- if we do what we must do, then I have no doubt that all across the country, from Florida to Oregon, from Washington to Maine, the people will rise up in November, and John Kerry will be sworn in as President, and John Edwards will be sworn in as Vice President, and this country will reclaim its promise, and out of this long political darkness a brighter day will come.

Thank you very much everybody. God bless you. Thank you.

The End.

Think of it as deja vu in reverse.

I hope you plan to translate Michelle's speach for us, too. Hardly anyone understand's what the fk she's talking about half the time. I think if you provide a translation minus all the negatives about life in America, the speach will only last about two paragraphs and the rest of us can get some sleep.

Actually, I'm excited. Only 77 more days before Hope and Hair Plugs will be put away for another two and a half years.

Sure. As luck would have it, this blog is on the cutting edge of news journalism. I have seen an advance copy of the speech and it is condensed and paraphrased as follows:

Vote for Barack Obama because he is my husband, the father of my children, and to do so will atone for the years of systematic white oppression in this country. It's time to take gun-toting, pick-up driving, rednecks to task for keeping the black man down.

Yes, we can. We are just like you.

Change, hope and vision are all just an election away.
