AICS from The Logic Lifeline is a good friend of this blog and has been on a hiatus for awhile. But now, it appears that Biden being named as Obama's running mate has flushed him out a little.

Here is a well-written synopsis of his take on the election, thus far. Lots of valid points to consider, give it a look when you get a moment.

Hi LAS !

For the moment there are three candidates (two prez, one veep) and all three are senators.

If McCain chooses a governor or a state rep as running mate, he might have a good selling point, since by definition he’ll not be choosing a Washington Insider, as Obama did.

Too, the current USA is assuredly not Ancient Rome (sigh). The Senate is not the government, with Obama and Biden as future counsuls.

Best,

... uh, that should be "consuls". Amerloque is having an off day. Apologies to all.

Not yet, my friend. But who's to say it isn't in our future?

Every time I read about the conversion from the Roman Republic to the Empire, I get nervous. ;)
