The smoke screen being generated by Senate liberals over Bush's nomination of John Bolton for ambassador to the United Nations obscures the real battle, one that has almost nothing to do with Bolton.
After all, if an abrasive personality and bad office manners were disqualifications for high office the Senate itself would be vastly different.
No. The real battle is over whether our sovereignty will be strangled by the UN.
A diseased organization needs a surgeon and Bolton is just the guy, to excise the cancer.

We will see how it goes. But if the nomination fails, I hope Bush names someone else, with his grit and determination. The left will look even more like the obstructionists, they are; if they oppose him/her.
Maybe Ann Coulter would like a shot. I would love to see her in front of the committee.

Washington is full of jerks and arrogant fools, on both side of the aisle. But I find it more so, on the left.
Every since the New Deal days, brief-case toting bureaucrats have been on power trips and have acted like they own the place. When they move to that town, they quickly forget who sent them there.
This delay does not make sense. When critical issues like Iran, North Korea, and UN reform are discussed, nothing can be done without US ambassador to the UN.
Margaret Thatcher wrote a letter of endorsement for Bolton nomination. But American politicians still complain his appointment?

You are right Shah, it does not make sense. But such is American politics in this day and age. You have said it correctly many times in your writings, "America is a divided country".
Right now, the minority party is dragging the nation down and they will probably not stop until they lose a few more elections. They were in power for a long time (in the legislative branch) and they still cannot figure out what has led to them to minority status.
