So what do they do? They hijack the Senate. Read this AP story and see if it smells fishy to you too.
1. They didn't get enough traction over the Libby indictment, so now they want attention.
2. Bush nominates a "seemingly" qualified man who is willing to go through the bitter and nasty process, so now they want attention.
3. Katrina horror stories are getting stale now, so now they want attention.
And what do they divert their attention back to for the umpteenth time? Iraq. Blah, blah. Iraq, Iraq, Iraq. Blah, blah. Bush lied. Bush failed. War for oil. Blah, blah, blah.
I am telling you, the blood of many an American troop was shed because these idiots care not. Every single time they use this BS tactic, it gives the enemy more and more hope. It emboldens them. It is useful in recruiting and other aspects of warfare. But mostly, it is a morale booster for those that target American forces.
And all because the Dems were not getting enough attention. Dealing with them is like dealing with being married to a spoiled and unreasonable woman.

But the Democrats won.
After the door were opened it was announced the investigation will finally, finally get started again. Libby's indictment was once again pushed to the front. Bill Frist was made to look like a hysterical fool, complaining that he had suffered a "slap to the face", which seems rather a minor issue when compared to the fact that we were misled by the Bush Administration into the Iraq war.
You write, "Iraq. Blah, blah. Iraq, Iraq, Iraq. Blah, blah. Bush lied. Bush failed. War for oil. Blah, blah, blah." I think you unwittingly make the case against youself. You don't think it's important that we may have been led into an bloody war costing thousands of lives and hundreds of billions of dollars by a President who lied to the people about the threat Iraq caused and then, once he got the war he wanted, had no clue what to do afterwards? If that's your attitude, it's hard to take anything you say seriously. It's all "blah blah blah".
"But the Democrats won."
Won what?
They did not win an election on this platform. They did not unseat George Bush, they did not win control of Congress. What really makes you think that this strategy is particularly effective?

1. Miscalculation is not a lie.
2. The Senate also miscalculated and voted for H.J.Res. 114, 77-23. They saw the same intelligence. Are they not accountable, as well?
3. Much of this intelligence at the heart of this controversy, was gathered during the Clinton Administration.
4. Many foreign intelligence services believed these intelligence reports. The UN (for the most part) believed it, they just didn't want the war because they were profiting from Saddam.
5. IMO we did rush the process. I would have preferred we wait, until Afghanistan was better settled. But, Saddam would eventually have needed to be dealt with. And now that the decision has been made, we cannot back out now.
"If that's your attitude, it's hard to take anything you say seriously. It's all "blah blah blah"."
I would think that by now, you would realize that I don't care who takes me seriously. It may be blah, blah, blah to you. But for some reason you come back to read my blah blah, don't you?
