Georgia Gets Tough: Passes New Law On Illegal Immigration

It looks like Georgia has thrown the gauntlet down and defied the minority. It is (and has been for some time now) clear that the American people are overwhelmingly supporting get tough laws and policies on illegal immigration. And Georgia has done something about it.

Reuters has the story.

I won't be a bit surprised to learn, there is a lawsuit ready to be filed. It will be especially interesting if the small business lobby has a hand in it, along with the expected Hispanic lobby. But whether you agree with this or not, you have to give them credit. They had the guts to do it.

Hats off to Georgia. I hope this has enough effect to spur other action by other states and the Fed.

You know there will be a lawsuit. The good thing is that Georgia is not under the 9th circuit wackos. Pure whole cloth legislation from the bench is the only hope of overturning this law.

The downside is that a sustained overturning of this could simply lead to a court imposed open border. Come one, come all. Surely the current Supreme Court would not do that, right?

AICS,

Then watch the armed vigilantes reappear, possibly inciting a race war. Remember for every action there is a reaction. And if the government will not react to the will of the people, then the people will do the reacting, independent of the government.

AC,

Georgia for years has been the laughing stock of the nation, becuase the perception of it is, it is just a backward southern state.

But today, they have one of the toughest anti-terrorism laws on the books and now, they have the toughest anti-immigration laws to go with it. Now tell me just who are the stupid ones, here?

Georgia just redeemed her redneck reputation. Three cheers!
