Cindy Sheehan Arrested At White House

Click on the title for the complete AP story.

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Cindy Sheehan, the California woman who has used her son's death in Iraq to spur the anti-war movement, was arrested Monday while protesting outside the White House.

Sheehan and several dozen other protesters sat down on the sidewalk after marching along the pedestrian walkway on Pennsylvania Avenue. Police warned them three times that they were breaking the law by failing to move along, then began making arrests.

Sheehan, 48, was the first taken into custody. She stood up and was handcuffed, then led to a police vehicle while protesters chanted, "The whole world is watching."

Some people will do anything to get attention. Speaking at a rally this weekend, spending an inordinate amount of time at the President's ranch camping out with the media, and allowing herself to be used by the left as a poster girl for the anti-war effort, evidently is not enough.

Cindy and many of the others are having a hard time coping with the reality of growing older and feel they must do everything to re-live the good old days of college protesting, just like many of them did during Vietnam. It's called regression and it is a product of real and/or perceived trauma.

She is so pathetic, I wonder why we give her so much attention . . .?

So someone said that the whole world is watching? What are they going to do? Bleed on us?

I posted this same comment on Caos Blog... but here goes

I honestly think, strategy wise, that if you really want Cindy to be discredited… just lightly sprinkle this information out, with very little opinion attached. If far left folks see you getting all geared up about it, they will raise their hackles and defend her. If they just find out about it on their own, with out some crazy right wing nut rubbing their nose in it… it will have a much more dramatic effect.

I wont cover her at all because I just dont think she is news worthy. I think she has become a sham and a fraud, but I’m not willing to get into a fight about it, right or left.

I think that covering her, in any fashion, just fuels her selfish desire to be in the limelight more, and I wont play along.

Sheehan is out in la-la land. Her facial expressions are those of one who is her own little world. I don't see much of the grieving mother in her.
