Germany Busts Up Terror Plot

In another bumper sticker moment, it has been reported that Germany has foiled another major plot to attack Western targets.

The police in Germany have arrested three Islamic militants suspected of planning major terrorist attacks against several sites frequented by Americans, including the busy United States air base at Ramstein and the Frankfurt international airport.

I have been to Flughafen Frankfurt am Main, on numerous occasions. It was one of the busiest airports in Germany, at one time. I cannot imagine that much has changed since then. To hit it, along with Ramstein AFB, means U.S. citizens would most certainly become casualties.

There is a message here.

The War On Terror continues.

How many of these plots have been averted, without the media knowing about it? Behind the scenes in all nations that understand the nature of this beast, there is a hidden element that must work hard to keep these things from materializing. Long hours are spent to ensure that this doesn't happen.

Someone, somewhere, has to spend long hours to gather information. Others spend lots of time trying to interpret it. Others have to train and implement actions to prevent it. It isn't easy. It isn't foolproof.

Like it is always said: We have to successful 100% of the time. They only need to be successful once. (And sometimes, once is enough.)

Notice in the German attack it says they intercepted email. This is why the Democrats go along with Bush's TSP program, not publicly, but when nobody is looking (like voting). They know too well the value, both in stopping attacks and attacking Bush.

On the latter, they have to have something. Despite the housing and credit situation, the economy is still strong right now. So this is all they really have.
