News In Brief (And The Usual Opinionated Commentary)

These news briefs are very brief today. Just too busy. Hope to have things back in order this evening.

Calling Jesse and Al. Red alert. Racist beating in Norfolk. Need assistance.

Religious Revolt Appears Headed For Squashing

But it's not the usual religious uprising. No truck bombs, no suicide bombs, No killing of innocents.

Here's an interesting piece that claims Bush is advising Democrats, quietly, of course.

Clintons put squeeze on GQ Magazine.

My, my. Are we worried that something negative may be printed?

Well, that's probably b/c no one has drawn a cartoon mocking the dalai lama. If someone had, I'm sure there'd all kinds of suicide bombing and arson going on.

That was an interesting story from Politico. I hear the name all the time (esp. on CNN), but never go there to read anything. Are they left wing or right wing?

Greg,

//Are they left wing or right wing?//

They have liberal writers, they have conservative writers, and some middle of the road. I have seen some articles written from both party perspectives that are critical of the other side, but not mean-spirited.

So, I guess you could say, it's a pleasant mix. In all of my reading there, I have yet to see an extremist piece on either side of the aisle published there. It's been on my Blogroll for several months now.

Regarding the Norfolk incident, I've searched the internet all over and have yet to find out any information on who made the videotape? Was it from a camera phone, or from someone in the area filming something else at the time, or what?

I'm not challenging the credibility of the video--I'm just curious how it was made.

A kid that lives right there where the beating took place, had been taping skateboarders. What he used to do it, I am not sure.
