Upset For McCain?

As the media begins to fantasize about an Obama victory next Tuesday night, here are a couple of things you should be reading right now:

From Commentary Magazine comes ten reasons why McCain might win. You should read them all, but #9 is the one I would like to highlight for a moment.

9) The fire lit under Obama’s young supporters in the winter was largely due to Iraq and his opposition to the war. The stunning decline in violence and the departure of Iraq from the front page has put out the fire, to the extent that, like the young woman who made a sexy video calling herself Obama Girl and then didn’t vote in the New York primary because she went to get a manicure, they might not want to stand on line on Tuesday.

It articulates well with this story.

U.S. deaths in Iraq fell in October to their lowest monthly level of the war, matching the record low of 13 fatalities suffered in July. Iraqi deaths fell to their lowest monthly levels of the year.

Without the fervor of the anti-war sentiment, there is a significant chance the younger voters may not care enough about the economy to stand in line for an hour or two. Think about it, many of them already live in their parents' home and do not worry about their future.

The other piece I would recommend I found at Advance Indiana, claimed to be written by a Hillary supporter that also worked for Obama. (It apparently originated on RedState.Com, but they are experiencing server troubles at the time of this writing.) Again, it's worth the time to read the entire piece, but here is the part I want to highlight:

The Bradley Effect. Don’t believe these polls for a second. I just went over our numbers and found that we have next to no chance in the following states: Missouri, Indiana, North Carolina, Florida, New Hampshire and Nevada. Ohio leans heavily to McCain, but is too close to call it for him. Virginia, Pennsylvania, Colorado, New Mexico and Iowa are the true “toss up states”. The only two of these the campaign feels “confident” in are Iowa and New Mexico. The reason for such polling discrepancy is the Bradley Effect, and this is a subject of much discussion in the campaign. In general, we tend to take a -10 point percentage in allowing for this, and are not comfortable until the polls give us a spread well over this mark. This is why we are still campaigning in Virginia and Pennsylvania! This is why Ohio is such a desperate hope for us! What truly bothers this campaign is the fact that some pollsters get up to an 80% “refuse to respond” result. You can’t possibly include these into the polls. The truth is, people are afraid to let people know who they are voting for. The vast majority of these respondents are McCain supporters. Obama is the “hip” choice, and we all know it.

If we are to believe this, we could be in for a shock after the votes are counted. It's certainly possible, so it will be important for all people that are not comfortable with Obama in the White House, to vote. Do not rely on the media to tell you who has won the election before the results are known.

My Name Would Be Mud

For your comedic entertainment pleasure, here is a video in which a hypothetical scenario is played out. See what you think:

There is a twist to this: You can rest assured that I WILL vote and it WILL NOT be for Obama. I may go back to bed and have someone wake me when it's over, but I WILL vote.

This is a MoveOn.Org toy that Greg linked us up to in an earlier thread, I just thought it would be funny to plug in my name and see how it turned out. But the real funny tale is the story of the Obama girl. She made the videos that caught the eyes of all of the "young zombie" demographic, but didn't even vote in her state's primary because she wanted to get a manicure instead.

The Thanks You Get

In some ways this is funny. But in others ways, it's really quite sad. From PR Newswire comes this story:

Just 5 days before the election, at 3a.m. on October 30th, all of the front windows of the Cindy Sheehan for Congress campaign offices were shattered. Although staffers had been in the office less than an hour earlier, no one was in the building at the time of the incident. No one was hurt and there were no witnesses. Cindy Sheehan is a candidate for Congress in California's 8th Congressional District race against incumbent Nancy Pelosi (D-CA).

Here, Cindy has spent countless hours calling attention to how big of a devil Bush is. She carried the anti-war message to the media and beyond, with Pelosi and other prominent Democrats benefiting greatly from it - most notably in the 2006 mid-terms. But now that she has decided to take on the House Speaker in an election, she is feeling the wrath of the peaceful, freedom loving Democratic machine.

I almost wish Cindy would beat Pelosi. The Dems would be upset their little darling Nancy is gone and would no doubt be looking for revenge. And the GOP, well.........what is there to say?

But more than anything else, I would love to see her win it for the entertainment factor. Look, the seat is held by a leftist, it stays in the leftist hands ( nothing really lost). But instead of an incompetent angry shill, we get some solid leftist tirades from someone far more entertaining than Nancy.

The real reward is Pelosi being gone, but hey.......

Campaign Integrity: Obama-Style

Obama doesn't seem to mind attacking McCain for accurately describing Obama's economic ideology.
Barack Obama accused Republican rival John McCain on Wednesday of stooping to low tactics by labeling the Democrat a socialist. "I don't know what's next," Obama, the presidential candidate, said at an outdoor rally in North Carolina. "By the end of the week, he'll be accusing me of being a secret communist because I shared my toys in kindergarten. I shared my peanut butter and jelly sandwich."
Someone explain to me just how calling someone something, when they clearly are, is wrong?

The people that are eating up this guy's rhetoric are unable or unwilling to believe this guy has ideas and policies closer to Marxism, than any other candidate ever. The entire foundation of his campaign has been built around people that espouse socialism, and actively desire it to become the predominant way of life, here in the USA.

It is what it is, it's nothing else.
Just like the 95% that will supposedly be getting tax cuts.

The percentage of people that pay no taxes cannot receive tax cuts. The word "cuts' implies a decrease. You cannot cut nothing, you cannot decrease nothing. If you cut them a check, you give them something. This is not rocket science here.

But back to the word socialist, it implies taking from rich people that have a monetary stake in the economy, punishing them because they are rich, and then giving it to someone that has no stake in anything but their own little world and didn't do a damned thing to earn it. The people who have that vested interest are in the best position to help people, by using their money to make more. As a by-product of their desire to make more money, it is they who create jobs for those less fortunate.

Make no mistake here, tax them more and it will cost jobs, it will not create them.
Jobs will always pay taxes.

But go ahead, just try and take more of his money. It will not be long before he will cut jobs, eliminating the taxes those jobs paid out and the revenue generated in the private sector. Then, there will be more people clamoring for jobs, who were not clamoring for one, before it was decided to teach the rich people the lesson. No taxes, no durable good being sold, this is not the route to take. This, too, is not rocket science.

Obama is not being truthful with the American people. He describes his plans as Euro-socialism. But when pressed on the proper nomenclature, he ridicules and tries to silence those that call it what it is.

But this isn't the first time, Obama has lied to the American people. He said he would take public funding if John McCain would. But when it became apparent he could raise an enormous amount of cash, he reneged. This was the first sign that he was the same old tired politician, he said he wasn't.

Unfortunately, he has been raking in billions of dollars and there's a good chance much of it has been accepted illegally, with much of it untraceable.

Sen. Barack Obama's presidential campaign is allowing donors to use largely untraceable prepaid credit cards that could potentially be used to evade limits on how much an individual is legally allowed to give or to mask a contributor's identity, campaign officials confirmed.

Faced with a huge influx of donations over the Internet, the campaign has also chosen not to use basic security measures to prevent potentially illegal or anonymous contributions from flowing into its accounts, aides acknowledged. Instead, the campaign is scrutinizing its books for improper donations after the money has been deposited.

The Obama organization said its extensive review has ensured that the campaign has refunded any improper contributions, and noted that Federal Election Commission rules do not require front-end screening of donations.

In recent weeks, questionable contributions have created headaches for Obama's accounting team as it has tried to explain why campaign finance filings have included itemized donations from individuals using fake names, such as Es Esh or Doodad Pro. Those revelations prompted conservative bloggers to further test Obama's finance vetting by giving money using the kind of prepaid cards that can be bought at a drugstore and cannot be traced to a donor.

I wish that were all. Mustang has posted about this Obamanation that the MSM will be guaranteed to ignore. But just because they ignore it, does not mean it isn't happening.

A young Palestinian in a Gaza refugee camp is doing his part to get out the vote for Barack Obama. With a little help from the Internet, 24-year-old Ibrahim Abu Jayab is cold calling random American families from his parent's home imploring them to vote Obama.

Sounds like every street drug dealer, every major urban gang, and a multitude of Gaza benefactors are willing to buy this election for Obama. Is it any wonder, he rejected public funding?

Please tell me where there is any integrity with this man? I would desperately love to see it, but I cannot find any evidence it ever existed. He lies about his ideology, campaign funding, and accepts donations from anyone whether they are legal or not.

This tells us that he is not a man to be trusted in such a high position. His deceits will follow him into every aspect of his administration.

Here are some things worth a look:

Jennifer has a good little analogy posted on her site, called Socialism 101-Wild Pigs. You must read this, if you haven't already.

WaPo has an essay that is skeptical of Obama ushering in a new kind of politics, as he has often marketed in his smoke and mirrors act. Yes, you read it right, it's WaPo.

Over at ABC, Nancy Pelosi further demonstrates how stupid one can be and still hold onto power, after two years of not doing one damned thing. More bipartisan after Dems assume total control? My derriere. Even Comrade Dean is looking forward to one party rule.

More on the tape the LA Times is allegedly suppressing. I think we all should be able to decide whether we think there is one or not, just as I think we have had ample to time to evaluate Obama's past assocations as part of his character assessment. One more tape will not sway Obamatons, just as the LAT suppressing a tape will dissuade me from voting for McCain.

Presidential Character

By Mustang

Some people argue that domestic issues are of far greater importance than any discussion of character. I could not disagree more. All elections are about character. If we cannot trust the honor, patriotism, and fidelity of our elected representatives, then the issues don’t matter because whatever a candidate of low character shall say about political issues cannot matter.

I believe we each must consider the character of the two men who want us to elect them as our next president. Some may argue “What more is there to know about either candidate?” after a campaign that has lasted far too long. Ordinarily, at this point in the campaign, I would say, “nothing more.” Except in this election, “We the People” have found the press (as guardians of American democracy) seriously deficient. Rather than remaining impartial, the media has fallen head-over-heels in love with one of the candidates; we must excuse them from the jury of the court of public opinion. This year, the American people have not witnessed a fair trial.

Samuel Adams once said, "The public cannot be too curious concerning the characters of public men,” but this was long before the Obama Era. Political correctness and liberal bias have led us to outcries of racism for even asking questions not even remotely related to race.. The press castigated our friend “Joe the Plumber” for daring to ask about income redistribution. According to one radio report, the Secret Service visited a woman because she told an Obama Campaign worker that she would vote for Barack Obama, “over her dead body.” This kind of attention applied to citizens for merely expressing an opinion is patently un-American, but it is also reminiscent of the intimidation used to silence dissent in communist countries. Character matters all right, especially if suppression of the right of expression is what we can expect from an Obama presidency.

In order to assess the character of our presidential contenders, we must decide upon an appropriate exemplar. On the democratic side of the aisle, the obvious notables are Thomas Jefferson, Woodrow Wilson, Franklin Roosevelt, Harry Truman, John Kennedy, Lyndon Johnson, Jimmy Carter, and Bill Clinton. Jefferson may be too far back in time to serve as our role model. Roosevelt was a patent socialist. Truman left office as one of the most unpopular of all our presidents. Lyndon Johnson gave us too many scars. Mr. Carter was a buffoon and Bill Clinton . . . well, I wonder if we aren’t just a little too tired of hearing about him. Kennedy seems to qualify as the best Democratic Party exemplar, even if he was a womanizer; no one is perfect.

In the twentieth Century, notable Republican presidents have included Theodore Roosevelt, Dwight Eisenhower, Richard Nixon, and Ronald Reagan. Of these, Roosevelt was impetuous, Eisenhower cautious, Nixon resigned in disgrace, and Reagan was the great communicator. I therefore propose Reagan as our Republican Party exemplar.

In 1961, John Kennedy issued this mandate to the American people: “And so, my fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country.” John Kennedy became the darling of the American people; many around the world shared this view. We called his presidency Camelot. He was young, relatively inexperienced, but he excited the people about America’s future. He believed in the rights of man, a strong national defense, and the protection of liberty throughout the world. He believed that nuclear deterrence was insufficient to maintain peaceful coexistence. He believed the United States should be a beacon of hope, and he argued for increased world trade. He sought to achieve working partnerships with other world leaders to achieve dignity, justice, and liberty for all the people of the world. He sought to attain solidarity among the western (Atlantic) nations; he refuted communism as doomed to failure. He set forth an economic policy of unshackled enterprise, industrial leadership, and vibrant capitalism. He sought to lower interest rates in order to increase the flow of money, reduced government spending, and lower taxes. He also vowed to help small businesses through government loans and fair trade policy. Mr. Kennedy was a fiscal conservative.

Ronald Reagan was once a Democrat. He said, “I didn’t leave my party; my party left me.” We assume he spoke about the party of John Kennedy, a platform designed to inspire the American people to greatness. This was also the platform of Ronald Reagan. He repudiated the policy of Jimmy Carter; looking forward, he said, “Democratic politicians are without programs or ideas to reverse economic decline and despair. They are divided, leaderless, unseeing, uncomprehending, they plod on with listless offerings of pale imitations of the same policies they have pursued so long, knowing full well their futility.”

Reagan brought the American people a new pride in their country and themselves, their achievements and future possibilities. He wanted the American people to have liberty and freedom of choice, low taxes as a catalyst for economic growth. He repudiated the so-called Great Society because it created low human productivity. He fought for an expansion of private property ownership, committed himself to improved economic opportunities for black Americans, rights and equality for every minority, and equal opportunities for women. He was committed to the rights of unborn children.

Modern Democrats have turned Kennedy’s ideal upside down; now the cry is “Ask what your country can do for you.” Today’s Democrat pursues the politics of dependency, the essential breaking point between civil rights leaders Martin Luther King, Jr., and Jesse Jackson. King wanted black Americans to realize the reality of equality, while Jackson’s policies pursue racism, separatism, and demands for greater gifts from the government. King wanted black Americans judged according to their character; Jackson views character as secondary concern because the means justifies the end. King fought for unity, Jackson has dedicated his entire life to reverse-segregation.

Modern Republicans have broken faith with the American people. They broke their Contract with America. Much of what has happened since mid-2005 is the result of this failure. As a Republican, I bemoan a Democratically controlled Congress, but I realize that men such as Duke Cunningham brought it to fruition. But, before anyone starts gloating, we should note that the United States Congress today has achieved the low point of popular opinion; it cannot possibly get worse. Or, can it?

It is time to ask ourselves where Barack Obama and John McCain stand with regard to our exemplars of presidential character. We should assume that “Country First” is a sentiment that every patriotic American deeply subscribes; that all of us want to see positive changes for the future. That said, let us dispense with bumper-sticker ideology, and investigate the actual character of each candidate. Let us consider the deeds of these men rather than their words.

Before announcing his candidacy for the highest office, Barack Obama associated himself with socialist organizations, a peculiar philosophy that supports state or collective ownership of all property and the means of production. Since we achieve personal and national wealth through property and the means of production, Mr. Obama apparently believes than an egalitarian society is only possible when the state controls property and wealth. By extension, the State will distribute wealth according to its own priorities, and the State will achieve this through any number of programs, including taxation. Socialist programs relieve individuals of responsibility, for themselves, and for their families. We see this clearly in Mr. Obama’s platform;

Economic Policy

• An immediate energy rebate to American families

• An expenditure of $50 billion to jumpstart the economy

• Federal assistance to states and localities in education, health care, and infrastructure

• Implement the Congressional housing bill through state and local spending

• Federal investment in infrastructure to replenish highways and bridges

• Expenditures in education to replace and repair schools

• Immediate steps to stem the loss of manufacturing jobs.

• Increase employment and implementing shared prosperity.

• National health care initiatives

We should perhaps note at this point that governments do not create wealth, people do. Governments may facilitate productivity through sound economic policy, but they cannot interfere in a market economy without significant disruption to capitalist investment and diminishing personal and corporate income and profits. Barack Obama’s socialist platform is anathema to Kennedy’s economic philosophy, and may be unparalleled since the days of Franklin Roosevelt. Simply stated, responsible government cannot spend more than anticipated revenues, and it is contrary to American values to redistribute income in a free-market environment.

John McCain is a moderate conservative approximating John Kennedy and Ronald Reagan. He believes that the Constitution of the United States limits the role of the federal government, and he strives to work with the Congress within a constitutional framework to improve government efficiency and reduce waste. Like Kennedy and Reagan, McCain believes that lower taxes improve productivity, and that reduced spending is fiscally responsible and economically necessary. While there are some things the federal government must do, other projects constitutionally fall within the purview of the 50 states. National defense and homeland security is something the federal government must do, but the central government must form partnerships with the states on other important human-services programs. Reflected in Mr. McCain’s platform:

Economic Policy

• Implement immediate transparency to the budgeting process

• Evaluate and reduce spending on wasteful and inefficient programs

• Empower states to improve public services

• Implement meaningful (and trustworthy) oversight of government programs

• Make government more efficient and responsive to citizen’s needs

• Prioritize spending to improve and safeguard America’s infrastructure

• Modernize Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid Programs

• Restore Social Security to a sound financial basis

• Expand opportunities to promote personal and industrial prosperity

Of these two men, which has the greatest character? Which of these candidates maintains faith with our founding principles of Constitutional Federalism, a steady hand on the tiller of state, while allowing individuals to choose for themselves their best course? John McCain is not a perfect man, nor is he without justifiable criticism of his previous positions; but John McCain is an open book. His service to his country and his associations has been honorable, and trustworthy.

Barack Obama has not been honest and forthright with the American people. He has hidden his past associations or played them down. He has defamed religious teaching through adherence to black separatist theology and racism, consorted with known terrorists, and enjoys the backing of organizations harmful to the interests and the people of the United States. As an advocate of socialist/Marxist ideology, Barack Obama is frankly, in our judgment, un-American. He falls far short of exemplars such as John Kennedy and Ronald Reagan.

Character matters because our nation is facing crises on several critical fronts. If we intend to resolve these problems, we must have the steady hand of true statesmanship. We must have in our president wisdom, experience, honesty, fidelity, and valor. Our president must be a man whose character is consistent with our Nation’s legacy of liberty and equality.

Every presidential election brings forth professional pundits who tell us that this election is the most important of our entire lifetime. This time, they could be right. Our selection of the right man will assure our children, and theirs, of a nation dedicated to individual liberty, prosperity, and the pursuit of happiness. If we choose the wrong man, we may very well witness an end to the United States as created by our forefathers. We are living in perilous times — there is no room for error in our selection of the 44th President of the United States.

On Election Day, one of these candidates will receive a majority of popular votes. In December, the Electoral College will validate the popular vote and confirm the identity of our next president. But this election is more than a referendum on the ability of the American voter to discern between two well-educated men. This election is rather a test of America’s ability to distinguish and reward personal character and to recognize integrity and statesmanship between one man who possesses these qualities and the other who does not.

We urge Americans to vote for John McCain. There simply is no other choice that is good for the American people, or our great country.

How do you tell a Communist? Well, it's someone who reads Marx and Lenin. And how do you tell an anti-Communist? It's someone who understands Marx and Lenin" — Ronald Reagan

Titans 31 - Colts 21

Tennessee is for real and they came to play. I think in many ways they could be the team to beat this year. I wholeheartedly agree with the play-byplay announcers that called this game, the Titans needed this one worse than the Colts. And believe me, the Colts needed it. They now trail Tennessee by four games. No division title this year, they must concentrate getting into the wild card.

The Colts didn't help themselves much. Dropped passes that are usually caught. Penalties on key downs. The usual. None of the intangibles went their way.

And so, the evening belonged to Tennessee. They made some big plays on both sides of the ball, when they needed it. The Titans' defense came up very big, causing some of those dropped balls. They did what all great teams do, they controlled the line of scrimmage. Collins did what he had to do, when he had to do it. He distributed the ball very efficiently, I'd say it was enough to win a Super Bowl (although that's a long way off, just yet).

Despite the fact they are serious division rivals, I have the utmost respect for the organization. It all starts with the coach.

There is no coach that deserves the success he is having right now with his team, as does Jeff Fisher. He has been the man for this franchise for many a year now and has paid his dues in this league. Congrats to him and the Titans for a great start.

The Colts need to find something to get them back into sync. I am not ready to call it a season yet. Lots of time left , but there's something more than meets the eye here.

The Colts have allowed key defensive players to leave since the days of the SB victory, and Sanders doesn't help, when he is on the injured list.
Tennessee had three former Colts on their roster last night, two were on defense.

Addai has got to get healthy, Rhodes is not able to carry the load. Chad Simpson is up from the practice squad, after the third string back Mike Hart was injured. Therein lies the Colts' problems on offense - no "grinding out" running plays this year. The last time they had it consistently was the SB year.

Ask LA

I just love to get letters from people that want to get involved in the process. It always brings a tear to my eyes when I get letters like this one:

Dude LA,

Like I've hurd you are this guru kinda guy that doles out advice to dudes like me. Except, like I really don't have the problem. My bud does.

See, he sold his X-box 360 to give the money to Obama, because he really rocks, you know. Because he needs the money to fight for our rights and things. But here is the prob man, I think he's already given his limit.

How can I, er uh, he get the money to Obama so he can save the world and get the bad guys on Grand Theft Auto, without getting busted, man?

Dear Sam,

Write a check, then send it to ACORN.

They'll see that he gets it.

Best to you,

For Good Reasons (Why Barbara West Hammered Biden On Socialism)

Much has been said about the recent Barbara West interview with Joe Biden. The radical Obama forces have probably littered their blogs with just about every derogatory name there is for her. Those of us who are resisting the forces of Marxism, disguised as "change we can believe in", are hailing it as one iota of journalistic integrity, in a mass of media collusion and corruption. (Mustang's take is here.)

One must ask themselves why a well-educated veteran news person go to such extremes? Maybe she had good reasons, maybe she had heard Obama make the statements contained in this video:

These statements were made long before anyone outside of the southside of Chicago really knew who Barack Obama was, long before we had ever heard of Joe the Plumber. These were made in 2001.

Give this a listen and you'll soon figure out why I oppose the very thought of this man being President.

Monday AM QB

The Colts play Tennessee tonight in Nashville, they had better bring their "A" game, because the Titans have proven to be a tough team so far this year. I'll be watching.

Seahawks 34 - 49ers 13

The best thing the Niners could muster on this Sunday was an ass-chewing from their new coach, Mike Singletary. For all of you younger fans, he was a terror in the Chicago Bears' linebacking corps. He was intense, he worked hard, and he played hard. He will want no one that will give any less as a part of his team.

Pats 23 - Rams 16

The Rams are not the worst team in the league and they proved it in this game. The Pats found a way to win despite the fact, the Rams gave them a hell of a run for their money. I didn't get to see this one. Maybe Greg will enlighten us as to how the game played out in his eyes, along with his weekly barbs for the KC player that ended Brady's season. ;)

Giants 21 - Steelers 14

The Giants' defense won this one. The NY offense didn't have a spectacular day, but were able to put enough points on the board to pull this one out. The Giants schedule doesn't get much easier as the season wears on, so this was a big win for them. I watched much of this one. It was a good game, not decided until after the final two-minute warning.

Skins 25 - Lions 17

I would have thought Washington would have had their way with Detroit, which could be the worst team in the league next to the Bengals. Maybe they are suffering from a mid-season malaise that teams sometimes get into halfway through. They're still in the mix though.

Saints 37 - Chargers 32

Played in London, the Saints have put the Chargers in a hole. SD desperately needed this one, to pull even. But now at 3-5, it shows that Philip Rivers is not the QB he has been made out to be, nor has Norv Turner done anything to prove he's a good coach. That's what they get for firing Schottenheimer, a coach that knew how to win. Marty may not have won titles or fared well in the playoffs, but they went. Now, SD will be lucky to be on the bubble, in the playoff hunt at the end of the season.

Eagles 27 - Falcons 14

Didn't see it, but maybe Jennifer did and will enlighten us as to how well her team played. I know one thing for sure, the Eagles are the best last place team in the league. And at 4-3, don't count them out of a run for the playoffs just yet. In fact, anyone in the NFC East has a chance, right now.

Ask LA

Once again, it's time to go deep into the mailbag to help someone that needs guidance and advice:

Dear LA,

Much has been said about your amazing ability, to troubleshoot and problem-solve some difficult situations that people sometimes find themselves in. I have one such ordeal that I would like to share with you.

I have noticed the price of gas has dropped suddenly and rapidly, recently. Which is not a bad thing, but herein lies my dilemma:

It was my distinct understanding that when it rose, the price of my favorite vegetable, arugula, went up also. I love arugula as a garnish for smoked salmon with tarragon sauce or baked tilapia with arugula and pecan pesto. For me, there's no better culinary experience.

Now that gasoline is affordable once again, I cannot understand why the falling price has failed to translate to the transportation costs associated with the food industry. Can you help explain this anomaly to me?

Barry in Chicago

Dear Barry,

Sure thing.

There is this clown running for president who wants to tax corporations more , if he is elected. Maybe supermarket corporations are a little uneasy about lowering the prices right now, due to the fact that when he is sworn in, he will tax the oil companies more (causing another rise in fuel costs), or they just want to sock a little nest egg away for when he comes after them.

You see, Albertson's, Kroger, Publix, as well as your own local Jewel and Dominick's supermarket chains are run by a bunch of evil rich (mostly white) bastards that are not paying their fair share of taxes right now. The clown has already promised to raise taxes on the deadbeats that are not doing their patriotic duty, by supplying the government with unearned revenues (for the purpose of giving it to people that also do not earn anything). This will level the playing field and all will be able to afford arugula, as part of a healthy diet.

Hope this helps.

Interview Draws Biden's Ire

From the "turn about is fair play" department, this is a video you must see:

When Gibson and Couric hammered Pailn, it was fair but tough journalism. Nothing biased, just fair questions for someone who wants to be a heart beat from the Presidency. That's what we all heard from the elitist media.

I have little to no doubt, the leftist thought factory will be lambasting this news anchor for doing what the MSM has done to conservative thinkers, for years. She'll probably lose her job, but she'll get another one.

Watch this, it's reaping what has been sown at its best.

Update (10:07PM): Not even an hour has passed and the threats have already been issued.

WFTV-Channel 9's Barbara West conducted a satellite interview with Sen. Joe Biden on Thursday. A friend says it's some of the best entertainment he's seen recently. What do you think?

West wondered about Sen. Barack Obama's comment, to Joe the Plumber, about spreading the wealth. She quoted Karl Marx and asked how Obama isn't being a Marxist with the "spreading the wealth" comment.

"Are you joking?" said Biden, who is Obama's running mate. "No," West said.

West later asked Biden about his comments that Obama could be tested early on as president. She wondered if the Delaware senator was saying America's days as the world's leading power were over.

"I don't know who's writing your questions," Biden shot back.

Biden so disliked West's line of questioning that the Obama campaign canceled a WFTV interview with Jill Biden, the candidate's wife.

Can't take the heat? Clearly, they cannot.

Wait until this bunch is in power, they'll want to punish everyone that does not march in lock-step with their philosophy.

Another Blast From The Past

This is the last weekend before the ghouls and ghosts will be working overtime to scare the trick-or-treaters on Halloween, only to have to rise up and vote four days later. So it's only natural we have PYY's 2nd Annual Halloween version of Another Blast From The Past.

Hard to believe, but it's been 30 years since the debut of the first Halloween movie. It spawned seven sequels and a remake, and laid the groundwork for ten Friday The 13th films. I thought they all were lame, but the theme for this flick is a well written piece of music. By free association, it's a melody that has become synonymous with fright:

Here comes Mr. Halloween, himself, Alice Cooper. This one is the title cut off of the Killer album. In my opinion, it was almost as good as the Billion Dollar Babies release.

Warning: Some people may find some images in this video to be disturbing.

From the first album comes this little ballad, about an insane patient from a mental institution and his temporary escape from his court-ordered living quarters. Here is The Ballad Of Dwight Fry:

Here is a video showing him lip-syncing in a cameo appearance on the old TV show, The Snoop Sisters. The song is off of the Billion Dollar Babies album and is called, Sick Things:

Here is a tune from the Killer album. The video pays tribute to Alfred Hitchcock, the song is You Drive Me Nervous:

Obama Watch: What The Media Isn't Highlighting

Once again we tap into the valid question department. Kenneth R. Timmerman is the guy that is following the birth certificate issue, found in the previous post.

Here is an article that poses some more food for thought as you make your final decision, the one that will count.

As Barack Obama reaped a stunning $150 million in campaign donations in September, bringing his total to more than $600 million, new questions have arisen about the source of his amazing funding.

By Obama’s own admission, more than half of his contributions have come from small donors giving $200 or less. But unlike John McCain’s campaign, Obama won’t release the names of these donors.

A Newsmax canvass of disclosed Obama campaign donors shows worrisome anomalies, including outright violations of federal election laws.

Have you ever wondered how a greenhorn upstart on the national scene can rise to power so quickly, so efficiently, and with such excellent organization? Think about this, this guy has gone from giving a keynote speech at a convention to cult-like figure in four short years. Doesn't this make you a little apprehensive?

Democrat Files Suit Against Obama

I got this through a blog called Common Cents. Hat Tip for the video goes to Minority Report.

This video is questioning the legitimacy of Obama's natural born citizenship. You really need to watch this and if you have a blog, post it.

This isn't a Republican trying to conduct a smear.

UPDATE (thanks to Mustang):

From NewsMax comes this report:

A Pennsylvania lawsuit alleging that Barack Obama is not a “natural-born citizen” of the United States took an unusual twist this week, after a federally mandated deadline requiring Obama’s lawyers to produce a “vault” copy of his birth certificate expired with no response from Obama or his lawyers.

The lawsuit, filed by former Pennsylvania Deputy Attorney General Philip J. Berg — a self-avowed supporter of Hillary Clinton — alleges that Barack Obama was born in Kenya and is thus “ineligible” to run for president of the United States. It demands that Obama’s lawyers produce a copy of his original birth certificate to prove that he is a natural-born U.S. citizen.

Who is this man? How did he get to this point? When we think about how mysterious this man's rise to power has been, these become valid questions to ask. All of us can get birth certificates in the county and state where we were born, it's a matter of public record.

Could you imagine the damage the Democratic Party will absorb if it turns out, this man is not qualified to run for President? The damage will be irreversible for many years to come, yet all of this could be resolved by a trip to the county clerk's office. But for some reason, it hasn't happened.

Due to this non-compliance and lack of informative activity on the part of Obama, the surest way to prevent all of this uncertainty is to reject him in the polls.

Game Over.

Reset.

This work thing makes me too tired to write much at the end of a long hard week. So, as you may have already guessed, I am going to take the easy way out again.

For those of you that haven't heard the latest ploy by the Indianapolis NAACP to play games with the election, take a look at this one. But be sure to follow the link in the post to see what the NAACP didn't do. That's where the hypocrisy will exist, if there is any truth to this rumor at all.

For those not on Mustang's mailing list, here is an angle to the Obama phenomenon that you may want to look at with some interest. One of the links from that post poses another interesting question worthy of some thought and consideration.

As you may recall, Indiana's Lake County sat on their returns during the primary. This is the county adjacent to Chicago and consists of Gary, Hammond, and East Chicago, along with some other blue collar Calumet region towns. Well, as you may accurately guess, this is Obama Country. Take a look at the county's latest attempt to muster up some more votes for Obama. Evidently, turnout wasn't as strong as expected so now there is a need to extend the added voting time already implemented to ensure that voters aren't "disenfranchised". (Maybe Amerloque can share with us, how absentee and extended voting is conducted in France. If they have it all, I'd be willing to bet it's probably rigidly regulated.)

Neal Boortz has some things to say to the undecided voters. It's a bit lengthy, but I recommend the undecided read it, as well as those that are trying to sway them to reject Obama.

Ah yes, another bust stretch is at hand. Here are some things that may interest as I must work to pay the man:

Mustang had identified some real scoundrels of our day. I recommend giving this a look, when you get a chance.

VDH has a new essay that tries to explain the enigma that is Barack Obama.

While the polls are certainly indicating McCain hasn't a chance, PYY has been refuting these polls. I think McCain does have a chance, but only if people ignore these polls and actually vote. Do not be dissuaded by polls that do not count. I have never heard of this guy, but you would do well to read his essay.

"Race" For The Presidency - Part III

In our ongoing series (Part I is here, Part II is here) of how race is playing a major role in this election, we discover that someone at the Kansas City Star has discovered a "new" code word.

The "socialist" label that Sen. John McCain and his GOP presidential running mate Sarah Palin are trying to attach to Sen. Barack Obama actually has long and very ugly historical roots.

J. Edgar Hoover, director of the FBI from 1924 to 1972, used the term liberally to describe African Americans who spent their lives fighting for equality.

Those freedom fighters included the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., who led the Civil Rights Movement; W.E.B. Du Bois, who in 1909 helped found the NAACP which is still the nation's oldest and largest civil rights organization; Paul Robeson, a famous singer, actor and political activist who in the 1930s became involved in national and international movements for better labor relations, peace and racial justice; and A. Philip Randolph, who founded and was the longtime head of the Brotherhood of Sleeping Car Porters and a leading advocate for civil rights for African Americans.

McCain and Palin have simply reached back in history to use an old code word for black. It set whites apart from those deemed unAmerican and those who could not be trusted during the communism scare.

Shame on McCain and Palin.

The dictionary definition from dictionary.com:

"so·cial·ist (sō'shə-lĭst)
n. An advocate of socialism."

"so·cial·ism (sō'shə-lĭz'əm)
n. Any of various theories or systems of social organization in which the means of producing and distributing goods is owned collectively or by a centralized government that often plans and controls the economy.

The stage in Marxist-Leninist theory intermediate between capitalism and communism, in which collective ownership of the economy under the dictatorship of the proletariat has not yet been successfully achieved."

Nancy Pelosi, John Kerry, Al Gore, Barney Frank and pretty much most of the Democratic Party are all called socialists at one time or another, based on their redistribution of wealth policies. Most of them are not black.

Sometimes a socialist really is just a socialist, Lewis. Stop being so paranoid.

Barney Frank: Plenty Of Rich People To Tax

At a time when conservation and wise fiscal prudence should be prevailing, Barney Frank gives John McCain and the GOP another gift in addition to Biden's:

Folks, they are telling us what they are going to do. They are not hiding it anymore. They are going to tax and spend this country into the ground. They are so confident they will control both Houses of Congress and the White House, they are beginning to sell their ideas right now (as if they have already won). I don't know about you, but I think this is the highest form of presumptuous arrogance one can ever see.

Are you going to let them do this? Are you really going to vote for Obama, after all of this?

Addendum:

PYY's good friend AICS of The Logic Lifeline has left a comment worthy of much thought and consideration:

They are strategically telegraphing their intent - weakly enough not to raise too many alarms, strongly enough to later claim they had a mandate to implement their socialist plans.

If Obama wins, watch closely for the words mandate and socialist policies to go hand in hand in the media.

Biden: Obama Will Be Tested With Generated Crisis

This report is coming from the NY Post.

"Mark my words," Biden told donors at a Seattle fund-raiser Sunday night.

"It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy. The world is looking. We're about to elect a brilliant 47-year-old senator president of the United States of America.

"Watch. We're going to have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy.

"And he's going to need help . . . to stand with him. Because it's not going to be apparent initially; it's not going to be apparent that we're right."

The logical questions that follow are:

1. Who will generate the crisis?

2. Why will it not be apparent initially?

This is a huge political gift, gift-wrapped and delivered to the doorstep of the McCain HQs. This is precisely why Biden has not been out on the trail so much these days, unlike his GOP counterpart Gov. Palin.

UPDATE:

Obama did not mention this in his speech today. However, I have heard two surrogates try to tap dance their way out of this. They are stumbling over their own words, they are desperately trying to clarify what Biden meant, to no avail. I think it's obvious what he meant. But they will spend the day telling us all what he meant, as if we cannot read.

He's on the ropes.

Obama Suspends Campaign To Visit Ailing Grandmother

That's what the WSJ is reporting.

Sen. Barack Obama will take off two days from his campaign this week, less than two weeks before Election Day, for an urgent visit to his ailing grandmother in Hawaii, the Democratic presidential candidate's campaign announced tonight.

I wish his grand mother well, but I am not sure just how urgent this visit is.

It has been announced that he is stopping in Indianapolis on Thursday, before flying out to Hawaii. Today is Tuesday.

Is it just me? Or does this smell fishy?

NObama 08 Blogburst

An Enigma Named Barack
by L.A. Sunset

We The People, in order to preserve a more balanced reality, are committed to learning the truth and uncovering the obscurity of a presidential candidate; a man long cloaked in a mysterious veil, and one that we presume hides the truth and distorts the true man who is Barack Obama.

Our opposition to Mr. Obama is not a factor of race, ethnic identity, nor even his place of domicile (i.e., Chicago); it is rather about his past associations, his character, his judgment, and his vision for the future of the United States of America. We believe that these are valid questions and concerns, that the American press has failed to address them in an honest and forthright manner, and that the American people have the right to know the answers to several questions.

Despite rhetoric designed to mislead and misinform the American voter, such as that Barack Obama is a political centrist; that he sincerely wants to change politics inside the beltway; and/or there is hope for a new day under an Obama administration, the issue of his past associations, statements, and activities demand greater scrutiny. We have learned that Mr. Obama’s associations have deep roots within the modern socialist movement, black separatist theology, known ties to anti-Jewish/Pro-Muslim persons, and Chicago-styled machine-politics. We believe that when combined these radical elements present a clear and present danger to American social tradition and every citizen’s quest for life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. The “A” list of Mr. Obama’s associates includes (but is not limited to):

William Ayers, an unrepentant terrorist, who by his own admission assures us that he did not participate in enough acts of terror to advance his cause properly, has achieve national attention.

Rev. Jeremiah Wright, whose vile condemnations of “white America” entertained Mr. Obama for twenty years.

Rev. Louis Farrakhan (born: Louis Eugene Walcott) who, as the leader of the Nation of Islam is a racist, a black separatist, a homophobe, and an anti-Semite.

Barack Obama joined with Louis Farrakhan and Libyan leader Muammar al-Gaddafi supporting Raila Odinga in his bid to become president of Kenya. Odinga’s political defeat resulted in Muslim violence, burning churches, murdering 1,000 anti-Odinga voters, and renewed demands for the imposition of Shari’ah Law.

Abongo (Roy) Obama, the brother of Barack, is a former Christian now radical Muslim convert, supporter of Cousin Raila Odinga. Roy Obama wants to institute Shari’ah law, wants Barack Obama to convert back to Islam and, as an American president, adopt anti-Israeli policies.

Moussa Marzook is a member of Hamas and author of the Hamas Manifesto, first published in the Los Angeles Times and later reprinted and sold by Jeremiah Wright from the vestibule of Trinity United Church of Christ. Mr. Marzook was indicted by the United States government on issues relating to foreign terrorist activities inside the United States of America. Hamas endorsed Barack Obama for the American presidency in April 2008.

Tony Rezko gave financial backing to Barack Obama early in his to-date short-lived political career. Even though Mr. Obama plays down the association with Mr. Rezko, it is difficult to ignore that the facts prove differently. (See also: Allison Davis, below)

Nadhmi Auchi is linked to Barack Obama through Tony Rezko. He is an Iraqi born billionaire who the U. S. government claims operated as a bagman for Saddam Hussein. He is a London-based financier, one of the world’s richest men. In 2003, he was convicted of fraud involving the “Elf Affair,” Europe’s largest scandal since the end of World War II.

Allison Davis, former employer of Barack Obama, who later closed his law firm and became a partner of Tony Rezko. Davis assigned Mr. Obama to legal work on behalf of Mr. Rezko.

Rev. James T. Meeks, whom Barack Obama regularly sought for counseling, who served as an Obama delegate at the Democratic Convention and is a long-time political ally, who aided Obama as an influential black supporter, received funding from Tony Rezko. Meeks is known for anti-Jewish and homophobic rhetoric.

Rashid Khalidi, along with William Ayers and Barack Obama, is a former professor at Chicago University. He directs the Palestine Press Agency in Beirut, is an agent of the Arab American Action Network, and according to a top official of former-President George H. W. Bush and a former CIA intelligence officer, former Weather Underground
leader William Ayers funneled money to Khalidi, who maintains ties with the Palestine Liberation Organization. Khalidi also received $70,000 from the Woods Fund, and held fund-raising events in his home on behalf of Barack Obama.

Barack Obama is a former director of The Woods Fund, a non-profit organization that, in addition to its interests in “giving a voice to less advantaged people,” helped funnel money to Rashid Khalidi for the Arab American Action Network, which presumably includes Palestinian interests within the United States. The Woods Fund also helps to finance “community organizing, and public policy.”

Created in 1995 to help raise funds to reform Chicago public schools, the Chicago Annenberg Challenge involved William Ayers as a leading founder, who in turn appointed Barack Obama to its board of directors. Mr. Obama served on the board for
six years. According to investigative journalist Stanley Kurtz, writing for the Wall Street Journal, reforming Chicago public schools is a bid misleading: it was a program designed to radicalize students more than it was to educate them. According to Ayers, “Teachers should be community organizers, dedicated to provoking resistance to American racism and oppression.”

Astute Bloggers has illustrated additional past associations; it is a well-researched expose providing a clear view of what lays just beneath the surface of Obama’s deception. We understand why Mr. Obama would want to play down these associations; we do not understand why the American news media would assist him in doing so. Nevertheless, Astute Bloggers lifts the veil on two well-known groups: The New Party, and the Chicago Democrat Socialists of America. Let's take a closer look.

The New Party is an obscure, lesser-known political group. It practices a political strategy called electoral fusion, which entails placing a political candidate on several lines of the same ballot. An example of how electoral fusion works is located at this page; look for the lead “Vote your values,” two-thirds of the way down on the right-hand side of the page. Once a candidate receives the support of Democratic kingmakers, and if the New Party feels the candidate will serve their socialist cause, they will add the candidate's name more than once in order to gain votes that are more popular. From the above link:
The New Party is an umbrella organization for grassroots political groups working to break the stranglehold that corporate money and corporate media have over our political process.

Our current work and long-term strategy is to change states' election rules to allow fusion voting - a method of voting that allows minor parties to have their own ballot line with which they can either endorse their own candidates or endorse the candidates of other parties. Through fusion, minor parties don't have to always compete in the winner-take-all two party system and can avoid "spoiling" - throwing an election to the most conservative candidate by splitting the votes that might go to two more progressive candidates (ours and another party's).

Not surprisingly, “community organizing” is the bedrock of The New Party; socialist progressivism is their ideology. The Chicago chapter maintains a close relationship to the Associations of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN). According to this 1996 publication, Barack Obama is clearly affiliated with The New Party

Illinois: Three NP-members won Democratic primaries last spring and face off against Republican opponents on Election Day: Danny Davis (U.S. House), Barack Obama (State Senate), and Patricia Martin (Cook County Judiciary).

Note: Readers familiar with Chicago politics will recognize the name of former Chicago mayor Danny Davis on that list also.

From this evidence, we begin to understand the role electoral fusion played in Mr. Obama’s rapid rise to political power.

Chicago Democrat Socialists of America pursues socio-political programs implied by the title of their organization, but even this organization is more than meets the eye. Cornel West, while serving as an Honorary Chair to Chicago DSA penned a remarkably revealing essay entitled Toward a Socialist Theory of Racism. Chicago DSA and Dr. West were particularly interested in Barack Obama because of his New Party affiliation, his success in running for State senator, and the strategies he employed, to wit: “Barack Obama, victor in the 13th State Senate District, encouraged NPers to join in his task forces on Voter Education and Voter Registration.”

Well, so what if Barack Obama peaks the interest of the Chicago DSA? It is important because no one backs a dark-horse candidate unless there is a chance he will win, and/or there is a reasonable expectation for a return of political capital. In an article entitled, The End of Liberalism socialist author Daniel Cantor wrote, “A massive Times-Mirror poll registered 53% of the public in favor of a ‘major third party,’ so there's no doubt that the soil is fertile. Among the hopeful contenders is the ‘New Party,’ one of a handful of newly forming independent, progressive parties in the country. New Party chapters have backed 93 candidates in nine states over the last eighteen months and won 62 elections.” An index of New Party political propaganda is available, here.

Daniel Cantor, of course, is the executive director of New York’s Working Families Party, another socialist group with chapters in Connecticut and Oregon. He urges socialists, “Vote Your Values.” This would appear to be good advice for everyone with values.

John Nichols writes for The Nation, a politically progressive publication. Nichols is a well-established writer, perhaps best known for ad nausium demands for the impeachment of George W. Bush for war crimes and other frivolous reasons; so much for his credibility.

Taken by themselves, none of these concerns will alter the course of human history. After all, as Americans, we encourage political and social discourse; we value the right of everyone to express an opinion, no matter how insane that opinion may be, and all of us have the right to associate with anyone we choose. Yet it is instructive to note that socialist radicals have completely infiltrated the Democratic Party, and we need no further proof than the inane rhetoric emanating from every Democrat in the House and Senate. The concern expressed in this essay is not that other ideas are unworthy of debate; it is rather that Barack Obama freely decided to associate with dangerously radical and disreputable influences and he now seeks to hide those associations.

Why would he do that? Barack Obama wants to become our next president; he knows that most Americans repudiate Marxist/socialist ideology; he is aware that if most voters begin to see the real Barack Obama, John McCain will win the election. But we believe that Barack Obama has been dishonest with American voters who are capable of thinking. We believe he has taken advantage of Americans voters who are incapable of thinking. We believe that if Mr. Obama stepped up to a microphone and told us what he really believes, he would be lucky to win the post of an Animal Control Specialist.

Honesty, truthfulness, clarity, judgment, motivation, patriotism, and common sense are all important attributes for the office of the President of the United States. We do not believe that Barack Obama has any of these qualities. And, if Mr. Barack Obama has been less than truthful about his associations, what makes anyone think we can trust his campaign promises, his vision for America? The fact is that every man is free to associate with whomever he pleases; but this does not protect any man from judgments about those associations. We believe that the sheer weight of Mr. Obama’s involvement with questionable individuals and organizations will lead a reasonable person to query both his judgment and motivation for nefarious associations.

We the People of the United States, who are also a loose confederation of bloggers, categorically reject Barack Obama for president. He is a radical socialist, he is a black separatist, a racist, he harbors pro-Muslim/Anti-Jewish sentiments and associates, he identifies with homophobes, convicted swindlers, known terrorists, creative financiers, and he has already signaled his willingness to sacrifice National Security for a dialogue with Muslim fanatics.

We cannot vote for this man. We urge you to join us in defeating Barack Obama. So say us one, so say us all.

A PYY Translation

From WTAE 4 inPittsburgh, comes this story.

U.S. Rep. John Murtha is calling many of the people who put him in office "rednecks."

The news comes one week after Murtha claimed the area is racist, then apologized for that comment.

In explaining his comments about racism, Murtha told WTAE it's difficult for many in the area to change. Murtha said that just five to 10 years ago the entire area was "redneck."

Now Murtha said only certain segments of the population are holding on to those racist feelings.

Translation:

The people that live in my district who plan on voting for John McCain are racist rednecks.

Dale Carnegie just rolled over in his grave.

So who is running against Murtha? If he/she loses to Murtha Mouth, it's because he/she doesn't want to win.

Monday AM QB

Packers 34 - Colts 14

I sat in amazement, wondering aloud, if this was the same team I saw hand it to the Ravens last week. I swear, the Colts' defense has two-thirds the amount of personalities as the fictional character Sybil. And the offense has the difference.

I can give some credit to the poor officiating, which was some of the worst I have seen in the many years of watching the NFL. They should all be fined and suspended. But it alone was not the determining factor in the final outcome.

When one begins to dissect the elements of the game, the bottom line is, the Packers brought it and the Colts did not. The fire was lit under the Packers, while they snuffed out the Colts' confidence.

The Pack really dominated the line of scrimmage, on both sides of the ball. The Colts running defense brought their red carpet for the Green Bay runners and the fighter escorts for the receivers. The Packers' secondary brought their radar and the defensive line ate their Wheaties before the game. GB rushed four for pretty much the entire game, keeping their LBs back on the Colt's receivers and taking away those underneath routes.

Put this with the emotion of needing the win worse than Indy and you have the makings of a thorough rout, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. The Colts had better get this one figured out quickly, because they play Tennessee next and the Titans will very likely bring the exact same game plan.

The only thing good about this day was seeing the score on the Buffalo - San Diego game.

Anyway, my Grandson dominated the weekend and I was not able to see any other games. So this is the only review I will post this week.

How did your teams fare and what were your thoughts about them?

A Saturday Thought

From the AP comes this story in which McCain is calling it like it is.

"At least in Europe, the Socialist leaders who so admire my opponent are upfront about their objectives," McCain said in a radio address. "They use real numbers and honest language. And we should demand equal candor from Sen. Obama. Raising taxes on some in order to give checks to others is not a tax cut; it's just another government giveaway."

The Senator from Arizona is half right. It is a giveaway, but the first part of this transaction is a takeaway. Take away from Person A, give away to person B. This is not creating wealth, but merely redistributing it; reallocating, redispensing, whatever you want to call it, this is what it is.

The wealth has already been created from the work of someone, who does not benefit from it. It is taken by decree and if need be, force. It, then, becomes the property of the person who did nothing to earn it. Call it taxing, spending, or implementing new programs, anyway you look at it, it is still socialism. It is still Robin Hood economics, run amok.

Europe wants it. They understand what it means, they are told what it is and what it means for them. And they overwhelmingly accept these things. There is nothing wrong with that.

But this does not mean the theory will translate well into the American system. The majority of people that create the wealth do not want this to be forced upon them and who can blame them? The harder they work to better themselves the more they are penalized. After awhile they might as well give up and join the ranks of the dependent and there goes our productivity, creativity, and innovative ingenuity. And with it, goes our identity.

If you want to see fair, AICS has put together a simple little table that explains it well. Don't take my word for it, go look at it for yourselves.

Another Blast From The Past

When one thinks of the music scene in Georgia, the Macon scene instantly comes to my mind; those that followed southern rock still may remember it as the home of Capricorn Records. It's biggest act? The Allman Brothers Band.

Living in Macon, as I did for two years, gave me a jump on the rest of the country on some of this great music from Capricorn.
Another band on the label, often living in the shadow of the Allmans, was a band called Wet Willie. They were counted as southern rock, but some of their music had a little jazz in the mix. Their biggest hit was a boogie tune called Keep On Smilin', but there is another one they had buried in its musical selection, it didn't make it so big unless you had the album. This one is called Weekend:

Another well-known Capricorn name, of the time, was a band out of South Carolina known as the Marshall Tucker Band. Here's one that got its share of airplay, called, Heard It In A Love Song:

When you hear the lineup of Capricorn, you cannot forget Elvin Bishop. Born in Glendale California, he grew up in Iowa and Oklahoma. This guy could out out some southern blues and was a great singer-songwriter of the day. The one song he will always be best known for is this one called, Fooled Around And Fell In Love:

This next artist wasn't from Macon and he didn't appear on Capricorn. But just hearing this tune, reminds me of some long rainy nights, seemingly sometimes for nights on end. It rained so hard and for long, sometimes, it really did feel like it raining all over the world. This guy had numerous hits, but none equaled the success of this one. Here is Brook Benton's, A Rainy Night In Georgia:

No Macon music feature can be without one from the Allmans. This one is from Live At The Fillmore and was recorded when Duane was still alive. Here is One Way Out:

Enjoy.
