Guilty On All Counts

From the AP:

O.J. Simpson, who went from American sports idol to celebrity-in-exile after he was acquitted of murder in 1995, was found guilty Friday of robbing two sports-memorabilia dealers at gunpoint in a Las Vegas hotel room.

Don't write off the possibility of getting a new trial from the appeals courts, just yet. Meanwhile, in other news, the polar ice cap has reached hell due to an unseasonal cold front and in Iowa, some pigs were already spotted flying south for the winter.

Hi LAS !

re: OJ

Anything to detract from Sarah's excellent performance against Joe. (sigh)

One thing that is rarely underlined is just how much both John McCain (as a military officer) and Sarah Palin (as the captain of a team which won a state championship) are "team players".

SP certainly demonstrated her commitment to the Republican team during the debate. She stayed on message; it was a remarkable performance for an individual who, five weeks ago, was hardly a national political figure.

Amerloque has a few disagreements with some of McCain's/ Palin's positions, of course, but that is to be expected in a mature democracy. There is no doubt in his mind that the Republican ticket would better for America than Obama/Biden.

One might also note that Sarah Palin has had more leadership and executive responsibilites than Obama and Biden put together.

One may, finally, note that the self anointed intelligentsia seem to miss the effect that Sarah Palin has on many Americans. She talks the talk and walks the walk: "I am one of you, not them."

This should not be underestimated, in Amerloque's view. (grin)

Best,

Just another example of keeping the black man down. My question, if we can convict people for being stupid, why are members of Congress running around scot-free?

Gotcha on that one!

Hi Amerloque

//Anything to detract from Sarah's excellent performance against Joe.//

I didn't see the debate due to sleep deprivation from the previous night. But from what I have gleaned from the internet and TV sound bites, she did pretty well. Certainly, she held her own against the more experienced Biden.

Mrs. Sunsett watched it and said that even Biden was a bit enamored by her.

The talk of the week leading up to this debate is how weak she looked in the Katie Couric interview. But we have found since then, it was Palin being obstinate due to the way she had been treated by, first Gibson, then Couric. But the debate and an interview with Fox's Carl Cameron, the day after, has been refreshing. (Here are the You Tube videos of that interview, take your pick of which one you watch and see what you think.)

The thing I have noticed with the MSM here is, when they get access to her, their objective is to make her look as stupid as possible. They have snipped, cut, and spliced pieces to achieve just that. It has been reported that some of the interview with Couric where she really takes Couric to task, was left out totally.

I have never liked Couric, but I used to have a measure of respect for Gibson. In his interview and Katie's, they both came off as entirely condescending. It's these kinds of elitists that talk about people instead of to them.

I think it's a mistake for the MSM to treat Palin as if she is stupid. They did that to Reagan and as it turned out, he was anything but. One could certainly disagree with his policies, but to think he wasn't intelligent was the epitome of a stupid journalism.

People also forget that Palin has a journalism degree, she knows more about the Fourth Estate than they may realize.

If the American electorate would only wise up, they wouldn't be walking around the halls of the Capitol Building. That being the case, they may not be in jail, but they would at least be cut off from the taxpayers' money and the power that so greatly intoxicates them.
