A Saturday Thought

From the AP comes this story in which McCain is calling it like it is.

"At least in Europe, the Socialist leaders who so admire my opponent are upfront about their objectives," McCain said in a radio address. "They use real numbers and honest language. And we should demand equal candor from Sen. Obama. Raising taxes on some in order to give checks to others is not a tax cut; it's just another government giveaway."

The Senator from Arizona is half right. It is a giveaway, but the first part of this transaction is a takeaway. Take away from Person A, give away to person B. This is not creating wealth, but merely redistributing it; reallocating, redispensing, whatever you want to call it, this is what it is.

The wealth has already been created from the work of someone, who does not benefit from it. It is taken by decree and if need be, force. It, then, becomes the property of the person who did nothing to earn it. Call it taxing, spending, or implementing new programs, anyway you look at it, it is still socialism. It is still Robin Hood economics, run amok.

Europe wants it. They understand what it means, they are told what it is and what it means for them. And they overwhelmingly accept these things. There is nothing wrong with that.

But this does not mean the theory will translate well into the American system. The majority of people that create the wealth do not want this to be forced upon them and who can blame them? The harder they work to better themselves the more they are penalized. After awhile they might as well give up and join the ranks of the dependent and there goes our productivity, creativity, and innovative ingenuity. And with it, goes our identity.

If you want to see fair, AICS has put together a simple little table that explains it well. Don't take my word for it, go look at it for yourselves.

I loved it, LA. Of course, it makes so much sense that it stands no chance of serious consideration by the Washington elite.

This election needs to get over with soon; I'm really boiling. I think we should stop saying "Members of Congress" and just refer to them as bastards. I think we'd all feel better, including the bastards themselves.

Hey now.

Some of my best friends are bastards. How about scumbags?

The only thing it will accomplish in America is lowering the standards of what being successful means. Why work hard when that money will go to some lazy, welfare grabbing, food stamp using mother with four kids and no job. She will then be able to get her hair done and nails done twice as often. The pride and integrity of this country will become a complete joke by the time Obama is through. It makes me sick!

Nice to see Dallas get it's ass whipped today.

Greg. There is still hope.

I predict the Bosox will win tonight and go on to win the World series.

PS - Total defamation of McCains war record tonight on French government controlled news. Hadn't really seen them so rabid since outbreak of Iraq war. (France2) Apparently some Frenchies went to find the Vietnamese that captured McCain and they all said he was never tortured and was well treated because they knew he was a VIP..

So they asked on the news was Mccain lying about his war record in order to make America feel good about Vietnam.

At the end of WWII everyone in France became a valiant resistant so they've had a lot of experience in subterfuge.

But at the end one of the Vietnamese said if he was American he would vote for McCain.

Here, the race is over and Barry Obama has won. As unfortunately we will have to listen to the French lecture us how they helped in his election.

My prediction if the Obamster wins.

France - First Official State Visit.

I am sooo happy I am able to live outside the envelope.

The amount of damage they can do with a super-majority and the executive branch together, is incalculable. This is where the old saying to the American people should be, be very careful what you wish for. The repercussions will be swift and thorough, the regrets numerous. To them I say, marry in haste, repent in leisure.

I think it will be Kenya, Venezuela, Cuba, or maybe Iran, not in any particular order. Obama doesn't give a damn about France, not like Kerry did. Obama wants to save America's standing with the nefarious regimes that say death to America, France always stops just short of this. France is just doing what France always does, take potshots at America when they perceive they are on the ropes..

rocket/las: shouldn't Obamerica meet with mini Hitler first? That heart-to-heart is going to be the first domino in the sequence that saves the world from disaster. Then again, may we should ask Whinnie the Pooh where he'd go first. Whoever has the best honey....

You jinxed it, pal!

For who? The Redskins? It's gonna be hard watching my team get whooped in its own stadium by the hated Broncos. Dark days in Boston again. How many days to opening day?

Greg

I had called the Madrid Masters tennis with a victory by Murray over the Frenchman. So I thought I was in the big leagues and could call the Bosox in 7.

Apparently not

PS - LA. The Packers secondary was like a steel wall!!!!!

If the Packers have any weaknesses at all, it didn't show in this game. Solid performance at every position. I don't think Aaron Rodgers is all that good and lacks consistency. But on this day, he was damned good.

Hi Rocket !

/// PS - Total defamation of McCains war record tonight on French government controlled news.///

It looks like there is another hatchet job in the works, this time on Sarah Palin. It's scheduled for Thursday, 23 October, in the "Envoyé Spécial" program on France 2 (that very same station ...)

(now, way back in the "Great Hypocritical Moments" thread ...)

/// Would you like a technician" No thanks at 50€ a pop because it is always the fault of the subscriber. So I sat it out and sure enough Monday morning it was back. ///

Yes, that's the new strategy to adopt, apparently. Since Numericable has to pay the technical subcontractor for every visit (and incur mucho bad feelings with the customer), it is in its own interest to solve the problem before the technician goes into the field. This was heavily intimated to Amerloque by one of the attorneys involved in the many pending lawsuits against Numericable.

/// I am so thankful that firearms are illegal in France as I would probably be serving my 31st year in prison. ///

Yes, if for no other reason than road rage. (wide grin)

Zen, Zen ...

/// PS - Do you have the new cablebox? I got mine in July after using the old one for 9 years and reception is much better except for these glitches.//

Nope, Amerloque still has the old one from the time when Numericable was Cybercable and Noos was Noos.

/// La pensée unique quoi! ///

A qui le dites-vous ! (Trans: You're playing my song !) (grin)

(Apologies to LAS and all readers for the discussion about French cable TV problems.)

Speaking for the 5-6 readers, no apology is necessary. ;)
