Cindy Sheehan Back In Crawford

Click on the title for the complete AP wire story.

Here is the sum of the matter. She is being used.

This was a carefully devised and calculated plan to disrupt the President's vacation, so they found a desperate grieving mother (in need of some serious grief counseling) to sit out at the ranch, throughout the month or so he is there. I mean let's be real here, the man is on-call 24 hours a day, seven days a week. and 52 weeks a year. Does he not deserve some rest?

So they plot, hatch, and scheme to send this emotionally unstable grieving mom to give the White House press corps something to do, other than sit outside the ranch and wait for something to happen. Congress is out of session, the Supreme Court is out, and the only thing they can come up with to cover, is a woman that has been duped and fooled into believing that her actions will change anything, that matters.

Her son isn't coming back. We cannot leave Iraq just yet. We cannot go back and change anything that has previously happened. Just what does this woman think she is doing and what does she really believe she is going to accomplish? She hasn't got either the sense or the presence of mind to understand that all of the mean and stupid things she says, is not going to ease her pain, one iota.

What we are really seeing here is a woman that has regressed to earlier developmental tasks, as described by Erikson. (Identity versus identity confusion.) She has regressed to her college days, back to Casey's age group. This is nothing more than a maladaptive coping mechanism, nothing more than a move back to a safe period of time in her life. She cannot bear the thought of growing old without a son that willingly gave his life, for a cause that she cannot understand. Therefore, there is safety in returning to the old college protest days. There was no responsibility, no real demands. No expectations.

We also have every mean and foul-spirited leftist in the country behind it. We have vulturous opportunists waiting to use every opportunity to score political points. We have rocket scientists like Michael Moore, George Soros, Howard Dean, et al, standing back and cheering this on, just as one would do in a childish game.

How sad it all is, when you really think about it.

Impressive post with good insight. I don't have any training in psychology so I don't fully understand your Erikson attribution but it sure sounds right!

In Cindy Sheehan, I definitely see a loud showy protest that is being manipulated from behind the scenes. To bad the MSM is falling for/supporting it (or maybe they are the ones behind it?!)

Great post.

I agree with VARepublicman. Why is the media spending so much time covering Sheehan? She's one grieving mother, being exploited by the far left. Why doesn't the media focus on the military parents who honor and respect their fallen child?

Without the media following her every move Sheehan would have no platform to criticize the president and dishonor her son, and she would quickly give up. I'd like to see the media do a report on Casey Sheehan and what a brave American hero he was.

I've said it before, when all is said and done, nothing will have changed. Her son will still be dead, we will still be in Iraq, the Left will still look for something to deomonize Bush, and no one will remember Cindy's name.

Only difference is she will have made a fool of herself, and lost the sympathy of the nation.

This psychological analysis sounds very stimulating. Regretfully, the media tend to tale up something sensational. Sometimes, they focus on particular aspect of certain news.

Extremists seize the opportunity to use such a sensational topic. I hope sound and well-balanced opinion will contain this sort of emotionalism.

The extremist rhetoric coming out of her mouth doesn't even touch the airwaves. Why? Joe Trippi, who orchestrated Howard Dean’s early victories in the 2004 primaries, and Fenton Communications, a Washington public-relations firm that champions left-wing causes, are among her “advisers”.

Code Pink is among her buddies down there, and they gave $600,000 to the terrorists in Fallujah.

Code Pink has also been among the anti-war protesters that have been demonstrating outside of Walter Reed Hospital--where injured soldiers are trying to convalesce. They're also showing up on Fridays which happens to be the day visitors--like family--show up to visit their injured loved ones.

The protesters hold signs that read “Maimed for Lies” and “Enlist here and die for Halliburton.”

Cindy also spoke at SFSU with Lynne Stewart in April. Lynne Stewart is the attorney who represented the terrorist Sheik, Omar Abdul Rahman, to carry out his murderous agendas while in prison by helping him to communicate with his terrorist organization in Egypt. Rahman was the spiritual leader of a cell that carried out the first World Trade Center bombing and was planning to blow up the Lincoln and Holland Tunnels. Stewart was recruited to the Rahman case by Lyndon Johnson’s Attorney General, Ramsey Clark, who has a long history of anti-American causes dating back to the Vietnam War.

Cindy Sheehan belongs to an extremely leftist--might I even say--COMMUNIST bunch of anti-war demonstrators, many of whom harken back to the days of the Vietnam War and feel reinvigorated that they have a "cause celebre" to throw themselves into once again.

Great post, BTW. Sorry for the rant.

The democrats recently showed their true nature when one of them remarked that Ms. Sheehan will be a great fund raiser for the Democratic Party. That really does tell an interesting tale, doesn't it?

Thanks to all of you for you comments.

Cao, as well as, all of you are welcome to rant here anytime.

I apologize for not responding sooner, but I had a very long day yesterday and today will be pretty much the same.

If you haven't checked out my post entitled "Protest as an Intoxicant" ,which links to VARepublicman's article. Do it now. Read his article. It may shed some more light as to why Cindy has chosen this path to grieve, as opposed to booze or drugs.

LA, I just threw down a post about Sheehan and the money folks are making off her. This is just getting out of control
