A Thought On Live Hurricane Coverage

Have you ever noticed that every cable news network has a reporter on the scene while the hurricane is hitting full force? Steve Harrigan of FOX News Channel did it today and just about got creamed by debris. One of these days, on live TV, we may get to see not just live coverage of a hurricane, but the live death of an idiot.

LOL. An astute observation, LA. Apparently, Fox is competing with the Weather Channel, since both cable companies are sending their people out in high velocity winds as a means of convincing us that indeed, there is a hurricane. I don't quite understand why, since if you hook up a remote and well-anchored camera, you can just as easily discern wind velocity by watching trees snap off at the trunk.

One reporter for the Weather Channel wanted to demonstrate that there were flooding conditions in Kenner, Louisiana by walking out to waist deep flood water while holding an electric microphone. Naturally, he admonished drivers not to foolishly drive into flooded areas. I kept waiting for an alligator to grab his dumb ass.

LOL.

That would have been a classic. That would have been on the next Extreme Video DVD.
