Pessimism Overshadows North Korea Talks

Click on the title for a link to an AP article (via the Boston Globe) on the (ever so) slow progress, in the North Korea talks.

BEIJING --Frustrated envoys headed into an eighth day of talks Tuesday aimed at persuading North Korea to give up its nuclear program, reporting little progress toward a statement of basic principles for negotiations.

But, did anyone really think that anything would be accomplished?

Pity. No comments at all? Whether something will be accomplished or not, It is Kim Jong Il. He will try to defect the agreement by any means.

On human rights issues, I am disappointed with South Korea. More people are kidnapped from this country than those from Japan.

North Korean problem cannot be dismissed.
